The hero's eyes burned with divine fury. Holy light exploded around his body like a second sun as he roared and unleashed his full strength — the accumulated power of the Goddess's blessings after months of war. His holy sword blazed with blinding radiance as he swung it downward in a strike that could have split a mountain.
Luo Feng raised the Adamantite dagger to block.
The clash was deafening.
A shockwave of light and force erupted outward. The dagger held for less than a heartbeat… then it was torn from Luo Feng's blood-slick grip. The legendary black blade spun through the air and clattered uselessly several meters away on the blood-soaked ground.
The hero's lips curled into a savage grin. He leaped high into the air, sword raised above his head, holy power gathering for the final blow that would cut Luo Feng clean in half from skull to groin.
"Die, you worthless mistake!"
From the sidelines, the S-rank adventurers who had followed Luo Feng screamed and charged forward to save him.
"FENG!"
But they were too slow. The distance was too great. The hero was already descending like a falling star.
Before their hands could even reach their weapons —
Luo Feng moved.
His left hand blurred.
The Cosmic Trident Spear appeared instantly from his Storage Bag. Purple lightning erupted violently along its black length, crackling with cosmic power.
He swung it upward in one smooth, devastating arc while the hero was still mid-air.
The three prongs met the holy sword.
The blessed blade shattered like cheap glass.
The trident continued upward without slowing.
The hero's right arm was severed clean at the shoulder — sword, armor, and all — spinning away in a fountain of blood.
The sheer force of the swing tore through the air itself. A jagged black rift cracked open in the sky above the training ground, reality splitting for a terrifying instant before the void sealed again with a thunderous boom.
Everyone — the King, the remaining soldiers, the Guild Master, the adventurers — stood frozen in utter shock and disbelief. Their mouths hung open. No one could speak. The impossible had just happened in front of their eyes.
The hero screamed in agony as he crashed to the ground, clutching the bloody stump where his arm had been.
Luo Feng stepped forward slowly, purple lightning still dancing along the Cosmic Trident Spear. He lowered the three prongs until the tip of the middle one rested lightly against the fallen hero's throat.
The hero stared up at him, eyes wide with terror and pain, breathing ragged.
