"Hold on, Hakari-san! Please, listen to me!" I yelled at the top of my lungs.
"I will not," he replied coolly, charging forward.
I realized he was channeling cursed energy into his fists. I ducked under his swing, stepping back as fast as I could.
He opened another door mid-charge—train doors, shimmering with energy—trapping me for a fraction of a second. His punch slammed into my face anyway, and I flew across the room like a ragdoll.
"Gojo Satoru got sealed!" I shouted, landing on my feet and staggering. "A massive killing game is about to start. Hakari, PLEASE, listen to me!"
"Gojo Satoru is sealed, you say?" He laughed loudly, the sound echoing off the cracked walls. "I'd sooner believe the sun rises from the west than what you're saying!"
"I'm telling the truth!" I screamed, narrowly dodging another brutal punch. I barely had time to react before he kicked me through a wall. Dust and debris rained down around me. I groaned, pushed myself up, and saw him coming again.
"I'm telling you the truth! Gojo Satoru is sealed! We need your help!"
Hakari ignored me completely, charging again. I kept backing up, dodging, weaving, trying not to trip over the broken rubble. I could feel his anger building.
"Man, you are so boring," he murmured as he slowly approached. "I hate people like you the most."
"I'm tellin—" I started, but a high-powered kick slammed into my vision. I barely blocked it. The force rattled my bones.
"You're here because of the higher-ups' orders," he said between attacks. "You can't be from Jujutsu High—or else you wouldn't have done that to Panda like that... Your fight were a real one."
I glanced at his face. Minor anger was creeping in.
"I hate higher-ups…" he muttered under his breath, then charged at full speed.
This is it. I can't dodge this forever.
Flame chains erupted from my hands, lashing out behind Hakari and wrapping around his legs.
I took the opportunity to punch his face. The blow connected perfectly. Blood trickled from his nose. I had used my full strength.
He wiped it off, a strange excitement gleaming in his eyes.
"Interesting…" he murmured. "You got my fever high, girl."
And then—my blood ran cold.
One hand raised in a palm-up gesture, the other forming a perfect O with thumb and forefinger.
Domain Expansion: Idle Death Gamble.
The room shifted violently. Walls seemed to bend, the ceiling stretched upward into a black void streaked with gold light. My mind swirled with how his domain worked.
No… no no no! I screamed silently. How did I screw this up so badly?
Do I let him beat me so he thinks... Should I fight?
And then it hit me: thinking too much gets you killed.
I followed my instincts instead.
A flaming longsword materialized in my hand. I summoned twelve flaming chains, some whipping, some snaking toward Hakari, some trying to bind him, others slashing at his limbs.
The chains could only hold him for a second; however, I could create lots of them, and they bought me the time I needed.
He twisted and shattered them like brittle rope, only minor burns left behind. I struck again, cutting his hand with the edge of my sword, forcing him to retreat.
He summoned a golden door, a trap for me—but I leapt over it, evading it.
I kept pressing the attack. Small burns accumulated all over his body; he realized he was losing slowly. He had to keep dodging my sword while I was getting an extra advantage with my chains that kept restricting him.
Another chain lashed at him. He dodged—but walked right into my sword's range. I stabbed deep into his chest, the sword pierced fully through his chest. Flames engulfed the blade, scorching his body and organs. He jumped back and formed a glowing sphere, a golden ball rushed at me, and I parried it with my sword, but the room itself trembled violently.
"666…"
The domain dissolved. I staggered. I was scared. I knew what this meant.
We both stood 5 meters away from one another
Suddenly, loud romantic music blasted. He began to dance as he gazed at me, all the wounds I had slowly accumulated on him disappeared in a second
Hakari came at me at impossible speed. I barely blocked, taking a punch to my arms. I was thrown across five walls, debris raining down around me.
Before I could recover, he appeared beside me and kicked me mid-air. I flew across the room and landed on my legs, wincing. My left arm bent at an unnatural angle. I looked forward as a green ball of energy streaked toward me.
I raised a flame wall, but it shattered instantly. Another punch slammed into my face. My vision went black. I flew across the building
I crashed somewhere, dazed. My arms and legs felt useless. I tried to move but once I looked at my limbs all of them were broken.
And then, I saw them.
Yuji, Megumi, Panda, and Kirara rushing towards me. Hakari stopped attacking, his eyes narrowing as he assessed the newcomers.
Screams echoed around me. None made sense, and my consciousness faded after a while.
Reverse Cursed Technique… I muttered weakly.
I had tried this once before, the moment I got isekai'd. I poured cursed energy into itself, separating two portions but it failed.
Of course it did. I had no system, no harem system, no overpowered abilities...
Then I felt something new—a faint something like a voice, guiding me. I followed it instinctively.
Sinus function...
I realized: cursed energy must flow like an absolute sine function. If the amount of cursed energy is always the same, the generated positive energy is destroyed by the negative energy around it. amount of cursed energy needs to keep decreasing and increasing...
My vision sharpened. My arm snapped back into position. My legs followed. I rose to my feet.
I looked around. We were in a cozy, dimly lit room. Walls lined with soft light panels, a few worn couches, and scattered papers and monitors.
I saw everyone looking at me. All had a grossed-out expression.
I blinked at Yuji.
"Uh… I managed to talk him down," he said, looking grossed out.
Hakari's eyes met mine.
"Sorry for beating your sorry ass," he said. "I still don't like you."
"Huh? What's going on…" I muttered.
Megumi stepped forward.
"You got knocked out," he explained. "Kirara, Yuji, Panda, and I managed to talk Hakari down. We were originally going to send you to Yuta-san or Yuki-san for RCT, but you… did it on your own, while unconscious."
"How long was I out?" I asked, rubbing my temple.
"Five hours," Megumi replied calmly.
I sank back to the couch.
"So… why is everyone staring at me like that?" I asked, blinking at the group.
Yuji shifted uncomfortably. "Uh… It's just… the way your arms and legs snapped back into place over the last three hours? It looked… kind of horrifying."
"Three hours?" I muttered, frowning. For me, it felt like a second. Three whole hours to heal…? That's insane."
Then my eyes landed on Panda. He was staring at me, wide-eyed, with an expression I couldn't quite read half awe, half fear.
"Oh…" I realized. I should probably apologize.
