A few weeks passed by after the crazy night at Kuoh Academy.
Peace finally returned to the town. But there was a new, small problem at the Himejima shrine.
The old wooden house was completely packed with people.
Rias had decided that she wanted to live with Elias and everyone else.
So, she packed her bags and moved right in.
With Elias, Dee, Akeno, Rias, Asia, and Xenovia all living under one roof, the house was always loud and busy.
Because there were so many teenagers running around, Shuri and Baraqiel never had any private time together.
They couldn't even have a quiet, romantic cup of tea in the kitchen without someone accidentally walking in and interrupting them.
Elias noticed this right away. He cared deeply about Shuri and Baraqiel.
They had taken care of him, and he wanted them to have a happy, peaceful relationship.
Luckily, the problem was solved very quickly.
One bright morning, everyone woke up to find a massive, beautiful mansion sitting on a large piece of empty land not far from the shrine.
It had tall metal gates, gorgeous green gardens, and an incredibly huge house.
It was fully sponsored and paid for by Sirzechs Lucifer, Rias's older brother.
The powerful Devil King wanted to deeply thank Elias for saving Rias, and he also wanted to make sure his little sister lived in absolute luxury.
Elias packed his bags and went to talk to Shuri.
"We are moving into the new mansion,"
Elias told her with a warm smile.
"Shuri-kaa san and Baraqiel-tou san need some quality time alone. You deserve some peace and quiet. The new house is just down the road, so we are still close."
Soon, everyone moved their things into the giant mansion.
There were dozens of huge, beautiful, empty bedrooms.
Rias, Akeno, Asia, and Xenovia were all very excited to pick out their own giant rooms.
But Dee didn't even look at the extra bedrooms.
She walked straight past all the empty doors and carried her bags right inside Elias's master bedroom.
She happily unpacked her clothes, her snacks, and her comic books right next to his things.
"Are you sure you don't want your own room?"
Elias asked her playfully, watching her organize her bags.
"You could have the biggest one in the entire house."
Dee just shook her head.
She walked over and wrapped her arms tightly around his waist, hugging him from behind.
"Nope,"
Dee said happily, resting her pale cheek against his back.
"I am the Goddess of Death. I can be anywhere in the entire multiverse. But the only place I ever want to be is right next to you."
Elias blushed a little and gently held her small hands.
He knew Dee would never separate from him.
She loved him way too much to ever sleep in a different room.
And honestly, Elias wouldn't want it any other way.
Later that evening, after they had finished putting all their clothes away, Elias sat on the edge of their large, comfortable bed.
He watched Dee happily eating a chocolate bar.
He suddenly remembered something that had been bothering him for a few weeks.
"Hey, Dee,"
Elias asked gently.
"I have been meaning to ask you. Who was that girl with the black cat ears? The one you took away during the fight at the school?"
Dee stopped chewing. She walked over and sat down right next to him.
"Her name is Kuroka,"
Dee answered, her voice turning soft and serious.
"She is Koneko's older sister."
Elias looked surprised.
"Koneko has a sister? Why didn't Rias or Akeno ever talk about her?"
"Because Kuroka is a wanted criminal,"
Dee explained.
She leaned her head on Elias's shoulder.
"A long time ago, their Devil master was a very cruel man. He was doing terrible, painful experiments on his servants. When he decided he wanted to use little Koneko for his dark magic, Kuroka snapped."
Dee looked up at Elias, her dark eyes filled with sadness for the cat girl.
"Kuroka killed her master to protect her little sister,"
Dee told him.
"She took all the blame so Koneko could be safe. She ran away and became a Stray Devil. Now, the whole world thinks she is a cold-blooded murderer, and Koneko thinks her sister abandoned her."
Elias frowned deeply. His heart ached for both of them.
He knew exactly what it felt like to want to protect your family at any cost.
Kuroka had sacrificed her entire life, her reputation, and her relationship with her sister just to keep Koneko safe.
"That isn't fair at all,"
Elias said, his voice tightening with anger.
"She isn't a criminal. She is a victim. We can't just let her hide in the dark forever. I want to help her."
Elias squeezed his hands into fists.
He was ready to go to the Devil leaders and force them to listen to the truth.
But Dee just smiled her sweet, calming smile.
She reached out and gently uncurled his fist, holding his hand.
"Don't worry, Eli,"
Dee said softly.
"You don't need to fight anyone this time. Just leave everything to me."
Elias blinked.
"Do you have a plan?"
"Of course I do,"
Dee giggled, looking very proud of herself.
"Remember when I told you I could hear the dead Nekomata spirits? They didn't just ask me to save Kuroka. They also told me everything."
Dee waved her free hand, and a small, black folder appeared out of thin air.
"The dead see everything, and they never lie,"
Dee explained with a confident smirk.
"The spirits gave me all of that evil master's dirty secrets. I know where his hidden laboratories were. I know where he hid his secret journals. I have already gathered enough hard evidence to prove completely that Kuroka is innocent."
Elias looked at the folder, completely amazed.
Once again, his girlfriend was absolutely incredible.
"So,"
Dee smiled, resting her head back on his shoulder.
"All we have to do now is give this proof to Sirzechs. Kuroka will be free, and Koneko will finally get her big sister back."
