The Dream World did not limit itself to Earth's history.
He had understood this from the System's initial disclosure: the Dream World contains all real historical periods and all mythological and legendary worlds that exist as genuine reality-echoes. He had been so focused on the historical — the Pre-Adamic, the Watchers, the Nephilim, the Flood — that he had not yet explored the second category.
The distinction the System had drawn was precise: they were real, the myths are memories. The mythological worlds were not invented. They were experiences that civilisations had had and had encoded into story because story was the transmission mechanism available at the time. The Greek Olympus. The Norse Asgard. The Egyptian Duat. The Sumerian underworld. The Mesopotamian heavens. All of them echoes of something actual — perhaps of the other realms, perhaps of the Watcher civilisation's more visible periods, perhaps of direct encounters between early human populations and non-human intelligences that their cognitive frameworks could only process as divine.
He spent a week exploring.
He did not enter all of them. He assessed each from the threshold — the Dream World allowed a survey mode, a brief perceptual contact with an era or realm before full immersion — and he chose based on the specific signal he was looking for: repositories. Accumulated knowledge. Physical objects of material or historical significance that had been lost to the waking world.
He found the Egyptian repository on the fourth day of exploration.

The Egypt he arrived in was not the Egypt of the pyramids' building — that era was well-documented and he had no particular need of its documentation.
This was older. The Egypt before the First Dynasty, in the period that Egyptologists noted in their public literature as the Pre-Dynastic with the specific academic caution of scholars who found the Pre-Dynastic period's evidence suggestive of significantly more than convention allowed them to formally claim.
The structure he was looking for was not hidden. It was simply old enough that the people of every subsequent era had walked past it without recognising what it was, because it was built in the Builder Stone material and the Builder Stone did not look, in most conditions, like a human construction.
It looked like a feature. A regular, geometric, suspiciously purposeful feature, but those were common enough in the waking world's archaeological record that they had accumulated an entire subdiscipline of scholars whose job was to argue about them.
He recognised it immediately.
Inside: the knowledge archive of what the Watcher Origin Record called 'the second teaching period' — the era when the Watchers had worked most directly with the Egyptian-corridor population, transmitting the astronomical and mathematical frameworks that would later become the foundation of Egyptian engineering and priesthood practice.
The archive contained the original transmissions, not the later transcriptions. Uncompressed. Complete.
He spent six Dream World hours in the archive.
He transferred twelve codices, two instruments — one astronomical, one architectural — and a physical object that the Prophetic Sight registered with the deep historical resonance it had produced only once before, at the Flood-era repository.
A seal. Not a document seal — a structural seal, approximately the size of a large coin, made of a material that the Neural Lattice could not immediately classify but that the Dream World Interface identified as: the material used to mark ownership of knowledge repositories in the Watcher system. A claim token. The equivalent, in Watcher-era legal structure, of a property deed.
He brought it out of the archive and transferred it on waking.

The Watcher Origin Record had a section on knowledge repository claims. The claim tokens — the system read these as a form of covenant-based ownership, similar in principle to the System's own covenant architecture — were binding across the Dream World's full scope. A claim token from a knowledge repository granted permanent access to that repository and all repositories linked to it under the original Watcher archival system.

He thought about what access to sixty-three repositories of Watcher-era knowledge meant in practical terms. He thought about the medical division and the twenty-seven diseases.
He thought about the alloy methodology and the construction attunement and the electromagnetic trace instrument that had arrived on his second crossing and that Mara's research division had spent two weeks trying to understand and had this morning sent him a preliminary assessment.
This appeared to be a portable tool for direct manipulation of electromagnetic fields at the nanoscale, which if reproducible had applications in materials science, medical treatment, and the kind of precision engineering that currently required facilities the size of buildings.
He thought: the Dream World is not an adventure. It is an archive. And I have just acquired the master key.
He put the claim token in the same pocket as the Spirit Anchor Token from his mother.
Two objects in one pocket. One from a person who had spent eleven years building toward him. One from a civilisation that had spent its final days building toward whoever came after.
