These candies have special properties that boost them, for example a hard rocklike candy upon consumption turns one into a tank with an almost impregnable body, a colorful candy transforms one into a magical girl able to bend the world into its will, a mucus like candy that resolves upon touch can grant its eater ability to transform into jelly like state.
These candies may be powerful, but they are rare and hard to find that the people who consume them only numbers up to a twenty, and these candies have a duration before being spat out by the eater and returning to their previous untransformed state.
The candies can be eaten again, but just like candies it melts after a long consumption by the eater, and other candies cannot be expelled because of its one time use.
In this sweet and edible world, everything is eatable, because. Everything is food, thus there's no such thing as gore, humans are made just like their world like the monsters that eat them.
If humans treated animals as food, then in this world it's the monsters that harvest them and treats them as food.
The human body in this world is composed of 100% sugar, their blood is hot chocolate, donuts is the heart, their tissues are crystalline candy, their entire body is made up to constantly consume and them eating is considered recycling and as a force of nature monsters are born.
Their matter of reproduction is the same as humans, the difference is just their body being entirely sugar.
