I think I saw him again. Well, I don't know if it was really him but he definitely had the same evil grin as him last night and the same sharp jawline and beautiful eyes. But the questions are in the air like a missing puzzle ; Who is he? Why was he in my front porch in the middle of the night?
All these questions remain unanswered but my biggest worry is whose was that finger . It all makes me sick to my stomach.
I saw him outside of the place where I work , was he following me there ?
Or does he work there too? But I don't think a lawyer would make the mistake of following another lawyer back home so the chances are he was just following me again. But I don't even know his name,whatever.
"Earth to adriana!" Lisa was yelling at this point.
"God you scared me!" I snapped out of it.
"Girl I have been calling your name for tha past five minutes and I honestly thought you fainted with your eyes open. "
"No I was just daydreaming. Anyway why were you calling me in the first place?"
"Girl , the actual freaking ceo is planning a meeting with all the staff, you know the one that lives in Ohio."
"What?? Why? "
"I have no idea ,but I heard he's single and 6'3 and-"
"Lisa be for real one time in your life, it's not like he's actually going to come here and look at .. us?"
"Well you never know, why are you such a pessimist , a girl can imagine."
"This isn't imagination,Lisa you're just delusional."
"Yea ,that too but I like to call it imagination."
"Sure now let's go we have an important meeting with a very important client."
"Oh yesss that one, what was his name again?"
"Jake. Jake Smith."
After the meeting Lisa and I want to grab food and when we got out of the building I saw him again. He was in the back of a black SUV and the doors were just closing as we made eye contact and I could just see him clearly and I noticed a small tattoo on his hand as he reached for something. And I recognised the tattoo from the night when he waved at me so now I was sure it was him.
But what was he doing here, because he certainly wasn't here for me since he was leaving before me.
"Hey Adriana, do you think the ceo is in the city , I mean New York is a giant city so he could be here."
But I was too speechless to listen to her so I just said :"Mhm."
After food it was dark outside so Lisa took me home since my car was at the repair shop and on the way home , we were stuck in traffic and that's when I saw him again . That same black SUV.
I swear to God the next time I see him, I'm going to file a restraining order.
Because this is not normal.
Later at home , as I was telling my best friend , Preya for the things that happened with the mysterious man and honestly I think it's sort of hot, but I didn't say that to Preya , she would kill me.
Preya is the type of person that you give the slightest bit of information and she will find everything out about the topic. She works with a company that is founded by the same CEO of our company but she's very discreet about her job. All I know is that it's very important and she hacks cameras and does stuff like that. I think they deal with criminals or people like that, I don't really know.
"That man sounds like he's serious." Preya grinned.
"Shut up you have no idea what you're talking about."
"By how you've described him, I feel like you like the idea of him coming after you as well, don't you?"
"Well.. I mean who wouldn't want a man coming after her?"
Preya sighs "Just be careful girl, if he was capable to bring an actual finger who knows what else he is capable of."
"Don't worry babe my movements are always precise. Cheers to my new stalker!"
Takes shot.
"This vodka hit different."
"For sure."
The next day I woke up hungover from the drinking night with Preya and I had a terrible headache.
I looked for aspirin but there wasn't any ,so I had to go to the store and buy some.
At the pharmacy, guess who I see ; the mysterious man. He was walking a bit further and I call out:
"Hey you!"
He turns his head , looks at me, smiles a little and crosses the road and gets into the same black SUV which takes off almost immediately.
He sent chills down my spine with the small smile he gave me, and from the anger that I couldn't talk to him or , that he didn't talk to me..
Anyway I went into the pharmacy and I'm convinced I was cussing him under my breath because the pharmacist was looking at me strange and asked:
"Miss are you okay?"
I gave him a side eye and answered with the best voice I could do in those moments ; "Yes, thank you."
That night, I couldn't stop thinking about the way he is everywhere at every moment and that genuine smile he gave me. I don't know why but it felt really nice knowing someone likes me even if it's a crazy psychopath that murders people. Speaking of, whose was that finger and now that I'm actually thinking I haven't seen Adam since that day. Could it be? No, there's no way. Only if he has been watching me but it's nearly impossible, or is it?
I don't know why but I was hoping he would be there , with my crazy thoughts I went out onto the balcony ,with a slight hope of him being there.
After a while I was just quietly enjoying the cold autumn breeze falling in contact with my hair and the forest noises when my eye caught him in the distance.
I actually waved this time and he waved back but I couldn't see his face , he had that same hoodie from the first night on. He just looked magical.His wide shoulders and that grin that he always had on his face and his big hands , he was just so.. addicting. But I'm convinced I hate him because stalking isn't normal now is it?
We just stayed there for some minutes , me on the second floor and him on the ground we looked like Romeo and Juliet . But I still don't know his name.
As I was about to yell for his name, his phone suddenly ringed and he left into the woods without even waving one last time . I have to admit, i honestly got a little sad but oh well…
I guess I'll see him around.
