Chapter 30 - Resolve

"I'm so glad you're okay…I felt everything."

Akashic looked up to see Alexia watching him with tears in her eyes. She held no doubt about his victory, but was still relieved to see he made it home.

Bringing him inside, she closed the door. Seeing him still standing though half of his shirt was soaked in blood, she quickly embraced him again.

"I have you… don't worry my love." She helped him walk to the bedroom and lay down. Removing his shirt she tossed it aside and looked at the wound.

Seeing that it was already healed wasn't shocking as she knew of his abilities. Only a slight scar remained in place.

Once Akashic laid down he fell asleep, his guard was completely down as he felt safe in her presence.

Alexia smiled and took a wet rag and began cleaning the blood off of his body.

For the next few hours she took meticulous care of him, monitoring his condition as he slept.

Looking at the time, she went and made food for him, something she knew he'd enjoy.

The soup his mother used to make when he was sick.

To be honest, she wasn't the best at cooking, she only learned how to make certain dishes to perfection as she knew what food Akashic enjoyed.

But even then, he was better at cooking still.

This left Alexia In a dilemma.

She knew Akashic had plans to deal with Daniel and figured it was how he sustained his injuries.

She even knew a little bit about his background on his mother's side. From what little she knew of their family, there will be more problems ahead.

But unfortunately she currently had no way of helping him.

And that upset her the most.

Alexia was mad at herself as she understood her physique, she knew what powers she held. But she just didn't have the strength to match it.

The feeling she experienced earlier when she felt Akashic get hurt put everything into perspective for her. He was sure to get into fights with even stronger people, and she refused to be useless.

Alexia had her own ego and her determination solidified as she planned on speaking to him once he awoke and ate.

For now, she brought the meal upstairs.

As she passed by the rooms, she saw a pink head of hair sticking out the cracked open door.

Lena saw her and her eyes lit up.

"Is he okay?! We saw him when he entered last night, but Luna told us to let you handle it."

Alexia noticed the worry on the girls face and nodded kindly.

"He is fine. Don't worry it was just an accident. I'm sure he'll talk to you all when he wakes up, he was really tired." Alexia didn't know what to tell them about the truth, she figured Akashic had his own plans for that.

She knew it was only a matter of time, the girls were more attached to him than she thought. They'd find out sooner or later.

Lena looked at Alexia as she walked away and frowned, knowing there was more to the story.

Slipping back into the room she looked at the other two.

Naomi was worried sick and could only pace around the room impatiently.

Luna was calmer but worry was evident on her face as well.

Seeing Lena enter the room again, both girls looked at her with hope.

"Everything's fine, but I think we were right. Something is definitely going on."

Lena spoke as she took a seat on the bed.

"true. did you see Alexia yesterday? she was having a good time then all of sudden…it was like she was a different person. Especially when that situation happened."

"Yeah. I had a suffocating feeling whenever I looked at her last night. Even though it wasn't directed at any of us, she was angry about something."

~

/Yesterday\

"Whew! I think this should be enough now!" Lena walked out of the store with multiple bags in her hands, wiping sweat from her brow with a massive smile on her face.

Luna and Naomi were used to her ways so they just smiled. Each of them also carrying a few bags.

"Is that everything? Most of the big items will be delivered throughout the week." Alexia confirmed.

The three girls looked at each other and nodded, ready to return home for dinner.

As they looked back at Alexia, she was messaging someone.

"Akashic said he'd be late tonight. How about we put the bags in the car and go out to eat?" After putting her phone away she suggested a new plan.

"Yes, please. With Lena trying to cook i'd prefer not having to explain to Akashic why our new house burnt down." Luna surprisingly was the first to speak up.

Naomi chuckled and agreed, remembering a few events of the past.

"Wha?! That's not true!" Lena stood there, mouth agape at the lies she felt were being placed on her.

"There was only one time!…well, maybe not…but the fourth time wasn't even my fault!" Seeing the girls just laughing caused a blush to spread on the embarrassed Lena's face.

She was happy Akashic wasn't here to hear her faults. Quickly she tossed the bags in the car and walked down the street to the first restaurant she could find.

"Did we go too far?" Alexia questioned. She was still new to friendships with other people, so she didn't know Lena's boundaries.

"Nope, she's fine. Trust me, we'll know when she's really upset. Let's go!" Naomi responded before storing the bags.

Soon they arrived at a nice restaurant. They were in a relatively upscale area so there were many people inside.

"Hello! Welcome! Do you have reservations?" They were greeted by a friendly hostess. Faced with her question the girls stared at each other blankly. They quickly apologized and left.

"Well, there's another place across the street, let's go there!" Lena, unswayed by the failure, happily skipped across the street.

Nothing could stop her love for food.

The girls hurriedly followed along, unaware of the person looking at them.

Inside the restaurant on the upper decks sat a relatively handsome man. He gazed out the window disinterestedly.

"Gods, I paid hundreds of dollars for this crap? You there, waiter, chop chop." The man snapped his fingers at the nearest person walking by.

The person looked at him, confused.

"Uhh, what? I just came from the bathroom dude, I don't work here." Taking a closer look, there was no tag on the man's shirt.

"Tsk…then why are you wearing that? You might as well make yourself useful, call a waiter for me." The man leaned back into his chair before looking out the window once again.

"This godawful city. I can't believe father sent me here all because of an assassination threat. We're the damn Sky family! Who cares what rabble tries to come for me." The man was none other than Landon Sky, the third son of the Sky family.

As he looked around his sight line caught four beauties exiting the restaurant.

He watched for a while, seeing them enter into a place across the street.

"Ha! They must've seen the consumption price and walked off. Hmm, maybe they would enjoy this food more than I. I could use the company." Thinking this city may not be so bad after all, he stood up.

"Rat, come here." After his words fell, a man appeared behind him in rapid speed.

"Yes, master?" The subservient man bowed.

"Stay here and inform the manager I'll be taking the VIP room. Tell that CEO to be gone from there by the time I'm back." Landon picked up his coat and went downstairs, eager for his next conquest.

Rat, on the other hand, went to fulfill his master's order.

"The menu here is nice, it's peaceful as well." Naomi commented, enjoying the sea themed atmosphere.

The girls each picked out something they'd like and waited for the food, exchanging small talk when something unexpected happened.

"Well, we fell out of contact for a bit, but luckily we really reconnected in schoo—*CRACK*" as Alexia was answering Naomi's questions, a sharp pain attacked her heart as it began pounding fiercely.

She felt a distinct pull and looked off at a seemingly random location, her heart pounding harder.

All of a sudden her sense rose drastically, she felt strength course through her body as she was eager to fight. One thing went through her mind as she felt the pain:

 "Akashic."

She knew it had to be connected to him somehow. Though information on the technique was limited, she had an instinctive understanding of her abilities once she awoken. And just now she felt like a seal was unlocked on her physique.

If Akashic were here, he'd [Observe] that she unlocked one of the abilities.

[Royal Protection: Upon a deep injury of one of the Supremes, grants a buff to the opposite party.]

Akashic was hurt, that's all that went through her head upon understanding her new ability. Her senses screamed at her to find him and kill whoever dared, but she refrained.

"Alexia…"

With the buff, she knew she wasn't at Akashic's level yet. Though she couldn't tell exactly how strong he was, she felt the quiet strength hidden in him whenever they were together.

She trusted him to pull through and tried to contain her emotions.

"Alexia…!"

*tap tap tap tap tap* her leg fidgeted under the table.

"Alexia!" She snapped back to reality.

Her focus returned and she saw the faces of the girls, they were worried while looking at her.

"What happened? Are you okay?" Lena spoke to her. She forced a smile and told them everything was fine.

The girls felt chills go down their spine as they saw the look in Alexia's eyes, though they felt no danger from her.

'Scary…' they all thought.

*Ding*

Just then, the door to the restaurant opened and a man stepped inside. He shoved the waitress out of the way and strolled up to the four girls.

"Hello, beauties. I accidentally paid for the VIP room over there and it's too late to cancel it. So, figured I could use some company! What do you say?" He showed off his most charming smile and felt his success coming.

Instead, he was met with an unexpected response.

"How do you accidentally get a VIP room? We couldn't even get in without a reservation." Naomi spoke to the other girls.

"Maybe he's dumb? It's not fair to judge others, sister." Luna spoke, trying to find reasoning in the man's words.

Lena rolled her eyes. She could tell by what the man wore that he was extremely wealthy and it bored her. She's had countless boys with money chasing after her.

Despite her bravado, she was rather delicate in matters of the heart. While she was initially obsessing over Akashic's looks, it's evolved into more than that for her.

This guys tired lines didn't work on her, or maybe it would if he were someone specific. Either way, she wasn't interested in the slightest and paid the man no mind.

Seeing the lack of response from the girls upset him.

"That's right! I haven't introduced myself. The fault is all mine. My name is Landon Sky." He dropped his name and waited for the adoration…..but alas it never came.

"Sky? I haven't heard of that before." Naomi was new to the city and the bigger world so she was unfamiliar with top names.

Lena & Luna recognized the name well and their expressions stiffened. They weren't interested in him, rather they were intimidated. They held fear of those with that level of power. He could do anything he wanted without consequence.

Subconsciously, Lena began reaching for her phone. Her wallpaper just so happened to be a group picture of three girls and a man with blue hair. This sight upset Landon as he considered her actions rude.

"Tch, peasants. You don't know something good even when it's right in front of you. You there, purple hair. You've been quiet the entire time, have you considered it?" He focused his attention on the girl who's been staring off into space.

'She wasn't in the photo so she should be free, but she seems a little ditzy. Even so, what a beauty…! Creepy eyes though.' Landon smirked.

"Ahh, I wouldn't do that if I were you. She doesn't seem to be in a good mood." Luna spoke, not wanting Alexia to get into trouble.

"Shut your whore mouth. You and the other two can stay here. Have fun working a dead end job your entire life with that trash."

*BANG*

"Can…you…please…stop talking!" Alexia snapped, the angry force of her aura pressuring against him.

Landon choked on his spit as her outburst startled him. As he tried to respond to her, he found his voice barely coming out.

He was a member of the Sky family, but he wasn't the most talented. As the 3rd son he enjoyed playing more than getting stronger. He buttered up his eldest brothers so he'd still be set for life when they took power.

Landon never needed to lift a finger or work hard. He spent his days in the embrace of various women. The current rumor was the contract on his life came from a disgruntled member of another family whose daughter he slept with.

Of course, the truth of that was never verified.

Still, he was confused. He was at least in the early Champion level. How did this random woman put so much fear into him.

Alexia increased her aura even more, focused on her order for him to remain silent.

The man began to choke, scratching at his neck as he gasped for air.

"Alexia!" Naomi shook her shoulders.

Feeling the sudden grab, Alexia awoke from her rage. She looked off into a different direction again and sighed, feeling that Akashic was no longer in pain.

Her skill wore off and a wave of exhaustion hit her.

Landon was on the floor in a puddle of his own urine, passed out.

The girls looked at him with disgust before looking at Alexia in fear and confusion.

'How did she do that…?' Was the question on all of their minds, but no one wanted to ask.

Eventually, they decided to cut the night short and left. Perfect timing, as soon as they left, Rat entered the restaurant to find his master on the floor.

-Present-

"That definitely was not normal! There's something going on here." Lena spoke as she recalled the fear she felt.

Naomi agreed but her mind was on only one thing.

"Can we go see him? I want to know what's going on. It's only been a few days since we reconnected and already I almost lost him again…" Everyone nodded and came up with a plan, creeping out of the room.

Little did she know, Naomi's intense feelings and stress knocked on the barrier of awakening.
