Sairis's POV
"What appointment do you need to get to," Loreen asked. His voice was even but the question had an edge underneath it that he was not entirely hiding.
Sairis stopped walking and turned to look at him. "A follow up with the royal physician," he said. "At the infirmary. Though I can see him tomorrow morning instead."
Loreen sighed. "We can go now," he said. "Since it would not take long."
Sairis shook his head. "It is just a checkup," he said. "It does not matter whether I go tonight or tomorrow morning. There is no difference."
Loreen looked at him. "Ardent said you had been avoiding him." He muttered, trying to read Sairis.
"I have been busy like you know," Sairis said.
"You are not busy right now," Loreen said.
Sairis looked at him. The last thing he wanted was to walk into that infirmary with Loreen standing beside him.
