Chapter 336: The Battle Explodes, Amou Takes the First Round!

...

While Calshius and his trio were closely analyzing Seito from afar, Seito himself was patiently waiting for the perfect window of opportunity. Meanwhile, Maple and the other vanguard squads had already officially initiated the first phase of the War of the Gods.

Time slipped away block by block. Soon, the clock struck nine in the evening.

Seito sat comfortably on the Game Star, casually cracking open melon seeds as his spatial perception monitored the exact grid layout of the entire War of the Gods domain.

Over on the frontline, Maple and her squad were locked in a fiercely white-hot,

inseparable collision with their targets. For the time being, it was impossible to easily determine a definitive victor.

"Seito-kun, are you planning to just keep waiting here?" Asuna asked, shifting her gaze toward him.

"I'll hold down the fort for a while longer. You guys should log out and rest first," Seito replied, skimming his status interface.

The countdown timer for the Planet's reality integration had dramatically accelerated; judging by the system data track, the process would reach full completion by early tomorrow morning. Because of this, Seito intended to remain stationary right here to track the structural shift of the planet.

Hearing his explanation, Asuna gave an understanding nod.

"Oh, by the way," Seito added as a secondary task crossed his mind.

"Remember to leave a message for Ms. Kirisu and the other faculty members tomorrow morning. Just let them know that Ms. Shizuka and Ms. Sae are currently tied up with urgent matters."

"Got it," Asuna nodded. She traded a brief confirmation look with the other upper management members of the Full Moon Guild who hadn't broken through to godhood yet, and they simultaneously logged out of the system.

Seeing them depart, Seito waved his hand to materialize a plush rocking chair behind him, smoothly sinking back into it.

"The God of the Sky, the Demon God, and the Dragon God..."

"What exactly is holding them back from forcefully triggering their God-King ascensions?"

Resting his elbow comfortably against the armrest of the rocking chair, Seito propped up his chin, sinking into a silent contemplation. The fact that all three peak deities were systematically delaying their breakthroughs was a blatant structural anomaly!

One had to remember that he had cleanly executed Sword God-King Gu Tong right before their eyes! Gu Tong, a full-fledged God-King, hadn't even been able to scratch a single thread of his clothing before being obliterated. Did these three remaining deities genuinely harbor the delusion that their baseline stats were vastly superior to Gu Tong's?

Seito felt there was definitely a hidden variable at play here. Could it be...

"They're actively tracking my movements, trying to deduce my true operational motives before committing to a choice?"

A solid hypothesis formed in his mind. As an absolute powerhouse at the God-King tier, he possessed the pure tactical leverage to execute a total system wipe of the lower domain and ascend directly to the God-King Star Region! Yet, he had deliberately chosen to abstain from doing so.

It was precisely because of this eccentric behavioral track that the God of the Sky and his allies were holding back their hands, attempting to read his playbook before revealing their own cards!

"Fascinating..."

Seito's eyes narrowed into an amused smile. If the reality matched his hypothesis, then it simply became a classic psychological game of chicken to see who would lose their composure first. Either way, he held all the leverage and was in absolutely no rush. With that thought, Seito closed his eyes, leisurely relaxing against the rocking chair to take a breather.

...

Meanwhile, over on Amou's battlefield.

The team composition following Amou wasn't large. The only Fatui Executives accompanying her vanguard were Ako and Shoko. Supporting them from the Game Star's resident faction was the Goddess of Doubt, Horou.

At this exact microsecond, the celestial body Amou's squad was actively sieging was a planet known as the "Rainwater Star." The absolute strongest entity ruling over this celestial body was a peak God-rank powerhouse named Corte, holding the divine title of the "God of Rain!"

BOOM!

Cleanly intercepted by Amou's devastating, concentrated punch, Corte crashed violently through dozens of floating meteors before being forcefully cratered deep inside the core of a massive asteroid.

"Pfft—! Damn it!"

Coughing up a heavy torrent of golden divine blood, Corte stared at Amou's approaching silhouette in an utterly battered and wretched state. His base level and stat scaling were perfectly equal to Amou's, but his core divine authority was completely outmatched by hers. After all, the War Divinity was explicitly forged for absolute combat; facing her in a direct physical trade was a mathematical nightmare!

"Heh, from the looks of it, you're pretty much running on empty," Amou chuckled softly, hovering gracefully through the void toward his position.

"Cough, cough—"

Spitting out a few more drops of divine blood, Corte glared venomously at her. "The God-King backing your faction is completely violating the established progression rules of the domain! If this continues, your group will inevitably be hunted down and executed by the upper echelons!"

"That's a variable you don't need to stress over," Amou replied with a beaming smile.

She deliberately held back from executing him on the spot. If she claimed the kill herself, the system would merely award a standard divinity fragment. However, if Seito claimed the kill while equipped with his set gear, his unique attributes would allow him to permanently siphon 100% of the target's Divine Power values!

Although the current spatial distance between her coordinate block and the Game Star prevented direct localized sound transmission, it didn't interfere with their dedicated system chat channels in the slightest!

Opening up the Executive group channel, Amou fired off a quick status log.

[The Empress: Seito, the perimeter is completely secure on my end. Do you want to take the final blow on this God of Rain, or should I just pop him myself?]

"Hmm?"

Over on the Game Star, Seito caught the flashing alert. After stretching his spatial perception to verify the exact status track of Amou's coordinates, he typed out his operational command.

[Seito: Go ahead and take the kill yourself. I'll dispatch the Space Set over to your coordinates right now.]

Seito was using his real name across the system framework now; his old network alias had been completely overwritten by the database.

As for the Space Set, since he didn't want to personally waste time traveling to the Rainwater Star, letting Amou execute the target while wearing his specialized gear was the perfect solution. Once the kill finalized, she could simply utilize the set parameter to transfer the harvested Divine Power back into his account.

Back on the Rainwater Star battlefield.

The moment she logged Seito's text stream, Amou instantly parsed his tactical intention. She shot back a quick confirmation track.

[The Empress: Roger that! Leave it to me!]

Closing down the system interface, Seito unequipped his five-piece set, replacing the divine gear with a comfortable, casual set of everyday clothes.

Hum— Hum—

The five magnificent Divine Artifacts hovered quietly in the empty air before him, humming with a dense, resonant energy frequency.

"Go," Seito murmured, casting his eyes over them before pointing his right hand directly toward the coordinate vector of the Rainwater Star.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—!

The moment the command track registered, the entire Space Set dissolved into columns of violet light, tearing through the dimensions as they shot toward Amou's location at absolute velocity.

...

The Rainwater Star.

Sweeping her eyes across the shattered remnants of the cosmic battlefield, Amou waited quietly for Seito's specialized gear to exit the warp gates. By this point, her squad had achieved a 100% total conquest of the planet's defensive matrix!

Ako and Shoko—wielding the Divinity of Poison and Divinity of Life respectively—had coordinated a flawless support loop. Under their enhanced parameter buffs, Horou had effortlessly systematically executed every single lower deity serving under Corte's command.

One after another, glittering divinity fragments had floated up into Horou's hands. Since her own progression loop didn't strictly require these minor elemental fragments, she had casually tossed the entire haul over to Ako and Shoko to store in their inventories.

The scale of the engagement had been fiercely cataclysmic. Celestial bodies shattered, cosmic constellations fractured into dust, and ancient deities crashed down into permanent demise! This was the absolute, unvarnished reality of a true War of the Gods!

Over in the cratered asteroid, Corte forced his trembling limbs to lock out, painfully dragging his battered frame back to a standing posture. He took a long, ragged breath to stabilize his fluctuating life force; he was currently operating at critical depletion. This was the absolute first time since his ascension to godhood that he had been reduced to such a thoroughly wretched state.

Glancing across the lifeless coordinates where his subordinate gods had fallen, Corte's expression remained perfectly hollow. The brutal nature of the War of the Gods was a baseline parameter they had all logged long ago; losing a collection of pawns wasn't a variable worth mourning over.

Turning his focus back onto Amou, Corte asked in a dead serious, heavy tone, "What exactly is your faction's true end goal here?"
