Chapter 337: The Rain God Falls! The Planet is About to Merge with the God Domain!
....
Corte could not fathom what Amou was trying to pull.
She clearly had the upper hand and could have executed him long ago, yet she chose to stay her hand. Was she intentionally forcing him to watch every single one of his subordinate deities perish before his eyes?
If that was her goal, she had miscalculated. Corte wasn't the kind of deity who had climbed his way up from mortal roots, learning empathy along the way. He was born a god! Because of that, his baseline personality was incredibly cold-blooded.
"No need to rush," Amou said with a gentle smile. "Just wait a little longer, and you'll see."
Hearing her words, Corte blanked out. Wait a little longer? Wait for what?
"They're here!"
Amou seemed to sense a specific shift in the network data, turning her gaze toward the distant starlight. Following her line of sight, Corte looked over as well.
In the remote expanse of the starfield, five bright points of light were rapidly tearing through space toward their location. As the light grew closer, the shapes of the incoming objects finally became clear, leaving Corte entirely frozen in place.
"Those are..."
He stared in absolute shock. Divine artifacts? No, wait! Two of them were full-fledged God-King artifacts!
Before he could even process the data track, the Space Set smoothly decelerated and floated right in front of Amou. Without a single word of hesitation, Amou unequipped her current armor and seamlessly loaded the Space Set onto her character profile.
Whoosh—
The pristine white Divine Clothes fluttered gracefully around her frame without a single breath of wind. She gripped the Spatial Dragon Katana firmly in her hand, the clean white lines of the necklace rested against her neck, and the glowing ring sat securely on her right hand. Meanwhile, the twenty-seven blocks of the Dimensional Cube floated in a perfect, synchronized orbit around her body.
"So this is the stat scaling of a God-King weapon?"
Sensing the massive parameter boost flooding her core system, Amou let out a small breath of surprise. While she didn't possess Seito's broken, absolute velocity talent, the moment her fingers wrapped around the hilt of the Spatial Dragon Katana, she could feel her raw combat attributes exploding outward.
"Heh."
Raising her eyes to look at the battered deity before her, Amou chuckled softly. "Alright, now you can die."
Clang—!
Flash!
Amou smoothly swung the Spatial Dragon Katana in a single, fluid arc. A sharp line of spatial energy flashed through the void, cleanly severing Corte's head from his shoulders before he could even register the movement.
[System Log: Your "Space Set" equipment effect has been triggered. You have successfully harvested 8,800,000 Divine Power points.]
[System Log: Since a player has successfully completed a solo kill against the deity "Rain God-Corte" for the first time, you are awarded the Solo First-Blood Reward: Rain Divinity.]
"Eight million eight hundred thousand?" Amou murmured, highly satisfied with the payout.
If this Rain God had been granted just a little more time to farm his territory, he likely would have possessed enough baseline energy to trigger a natural breakthrough into the God-King realm on his own.
Thinking about that scenario, she felt a small twinge of regret. They really should have treated him like a venomous insect in a jar, letting him cook until he hit the God-King tier before harvesting him. After all, a God-King kill was worth a whopping ten Divine Runes!
But it wasn't a major loss.
Whoosh—
A flawless divinity fragment drifted out from Corte's dissipating physical form, landing cleanly into the palm of Amou's hand. She smoothly stored the divinity away in her inventory and turned to look at Ako and the other two girls.
"We've completely cleaned up our side as well," Ako stated, seeing Amou look over.
"Mhm," Amou nodded. "Let's regroup and head back."
The other three nodded in agreement. Without further delay, they departed the shattered star sector, flying straight back toward the Game Star.
...
The Game Star.
"Looks like Amou and her squad have wrapped things up cleanly," Seito noted.
Sensing the localized combat loop end at the Rainwater Star coordinates, he gave his body a long, lazy stretch and slowly opened his brilliant, sapphire-blue eyes.
Ten minutes later...
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—
Amou materialized right in front of Seito, with Ako and the others trailing close behind.
"Here's your set gear back," Amou said, unequipping the Space Set and handing the divine items back over to him.
"Thanks," Seito replied, accepting the gear and seamlessly re-equipping it to his character profile. He looked up at Amou with a faint smile. "So, how was the payout? Did Corte yield a decent amount of Divine Power?"
"An absolute mountain of it!" Amou smiled back, replacing her own gear set before extending her right hand toward him.
Hum— Hum—
Strands of radiant white energy materialized across her skin, swiftly condensing over her palm into a pure, shimmering orb of white light that pulsed with a holy aura.
"He already had 8.8 million Divine Power points accumulated in his system pool," Amou explained as she transferred the energy package directly into Seito's account.
"That much?"
Seito was genuinely surprised. He accepted the massive energy block, absorbing it cleanly into his core before pulling up his status interface to review the metrics.
[Name: Seito]
[Divine Title: Space God-King]
[Rank: Early God-King Rank]
[Divinity: Space Divinity]
[Talent: Space Mastery]
[Divine Power Required for Upgrade: 10.45m / 50.00m]
[Skills: Velocity Space (Exclusive), Space Move (Exclusive), Spatial Void Steps (Exclusive)...]
[Weapons: Spatial Dragon Katana (God-King), Spatial Divine Clothes (God-King), Spatial Necklace (Divine), Spatial Dragon Ring (Divine), Dimensional Cube (Divine)]
Combining this fresh harvest with his existing pool, Seito's total Divine Power points had just cleanly cleared the ten-million threshold! This was an incredibly solid boost to his leveling path.
"Have those characters like the God of the Sky made a single move yet?" Amou's voice drifted over, pulling him out of the menus.
Seito closed his interface and shook his head with an amused smile. "No. Those old foxes are probably still glued to their monitors, tracking my every movement to see what my next tactical play is."
Hearing his assessment, Amou dropped the subject. "What about Maple and her squad?" she asked next.
"Their targets are a bit tougher, so they won't be wrapping up their matches anytime soon. Let's just sit back and take it easy for now; after all, the Planet's reality integration is right on the horizon," Seito responded casually.
There was absolutely no need to send reinforcements. Maple and the others were incredibly powerful in their own right, and the divine authorities attached to their divinities were top-tier.
Hearing his words, the four deities exchanged a look and nodded in unison. Although Horou wasn't native to the Planet, she had a firm conceptual understanding of what it was thanks to the detailed briefings Sora had provided earlier.
Without breaking the easygoing atmosphere, the group pulled over a few seats and relaxed right alongside Seito.
...
Time flowed by peacefully.
In the blink of an eye, the calendar rolled over to the next day.
Over at Sobu High, the school gates had opened as usual, and the student body had arrived on campus. However, the core leadership team—including Principal Minami, Ms. Shizuka Hiratsuka, Ms. Sae Chabashira, and Seito—were completely absent from the faculty rooms.
Similarly missing from the registration logs were the various students who had successfully broken through to godhood.
The rest of the faculty and school administration understood perfectly well what kind of high-stakes operations Seito and his group were currently running inside the game, so they had bypassed standard protocol to grant them unconditional leave. After all, the fact that the Fatui Executives were actively fighting alongside Seito in the War of the Gods was common knowledge among all players by now.
Strangely enough, regular classes weren't being held at Sobu High today. The entire student body and teaching staff sat quietly inside their classrooms, chatting in hushed tones as if waiting for a monumental event to trigger.
This exact same scene was playing out uniformly across every corner of the Eastern Country. Everyone was intensely aware of the master system timeline: today was the day the Planet would officially fuse into the reality of the God Domain!
As the seconds ticked away on the synchronized clocks...
The time officially hit exactly ten o'clock in the morning!
TONG—
TONG—
TONG———!!!
Three massive, world-shaking chimes echoed down from the highest vault of heaven, reverberating perfectly within the ears of every single human being across the globe.
The entire population of the planet instantly fell into an absolute, breathless silence. In the very next second, billions of pairs of eyes simultaneously turned upward, staring intently at the sky!
