The train rocked lightly as it left the station. Outside, fog swallowed the tracks. Adam leaned back in his seat, eyes scanning the car with calculated calm.
Aria sat opposite him, spinning a coin lazily. But for the first time since the first train incident, Adam smiled lightly, almost teasingly.
"You know," he said, voice low, "I don't need to plan every step."
Aria froze mid-spin. "Excuse me?"
Adam's calm eyes met hers. "I trust you. Completely. Handle it your way."
Her grin widened, but something flickered in her gaze—the rare, dangerous calm.
The doors slid open at the next stop. Guards weren't waiting… but shadows moved where they shouldn't.
Aria's tone softened slightly. "Thought you'd never say that."
Adam smirked. "I didn't. Until now."
The train continued to rumble, carrying them deeper into the organization's territory. And somewhere far ahead, someone was already watching, whispering into a headset:
