The train car shuddered as it sped down the tracks. Adam and Aria crouched behind crates, keeping low. Every few seconds, a guard patrolled by, unaware of them… yet.
Above them, a loudspeaker crackled to life.
"Move faster! Focus! Do as I say!"
A voice booming from the train's command room. Adam raised an eyebrow.
Aria groaned. "Really? All you do is sit on a chair and give orders."
Adam smirked faintly. "Some people think strategy is enough. Chaos doesn't care."
Meanwhile, the commander paced behind a bank of monitors, yelling at guards like they could suddenly teleport to the right position if he just shouted louder.
Aria muttered under her breath:
"Yeah, boss… go ahead and give more orders while we actually survive out here."
Adam's lips twitched into a subtle smile. "I prefer watching people like you work."
Aria shot him a look, but her grin returned. Somehow, the more he trusts her, the more she thrives in chaotic situations.
From the shadows, they moved silently, the real action happening far from the chair-bound commander, whose yelling was louder than anything else on the train.
