The rooftop across the street was empty.
Rain still fell softly over Blackridge.
But the silver-haired girl had vanished like a ghost.
Kai Draven stood in the shadows of the alley, staring at the rooftop where she had stood just seconds ago.
His mind raced.
"Did I imagine that?"
The Dragon Sovereign System flickered in front of him.
[Threat Analysis]
[Unknown observer confirmed]
Kai frowned.
"So the system saw her too…"
That meant one thing.
She was real.
And she knew something about him.
Kai slowly stepped out of the alley.
Emergency lights flashed across the ruined streets.
Hunter guild teams were still searching the area.
But Kai's attention was fixed on one question.
Who was that girl?
And how did she know about the dragon?
The system suddenly produced another notification.
[Dragon Heart stabilizing]
[Bloodline awakening: 8%]
Kai placed a hand on his chest.
The energy inside him felt stronger now.
Like a burning core that refused to stay quiet.
But the system showed another message.
[Warning]
Kai sighed.
"There's always a warning…"
The next line appeared.
[Dragon Hunters activity increasing]
Kai froze.
The name again.
Dragon Hunters.
An organization that hunted people with dragon bloodlines.
"Great," Kai muttered.
"So now I'm being hunted too."
Thunder rumbled across the sky again.
But this time the storm felt different.
The dragon had left.
Yet the danger had only begun.
Kai began walking down the street.
Broken glass crunched beneath his boots.
The city looked like it had survived a war.
But something else was bothering him.
The dragon's voice.
"You carry my blood."
Kai shook his head.
"I don't even know what that means."
Suddenly—
A voice spoke behind him.
"You really don't know?"
Kai spun around instantly.
His muscles tensed.
And there she was.
The silver-haired girl.
Standing beneath a flickering streetlight.
Rain fell around her, but she looked completely calm.
Her violet eyes watched Kai with quiet curiosity.
Kai's heart skipped.
"You!"
The girl tilted her head slightly.
"Me."
Kai looked around quickly.
The street was empty.
No hunters nearby.
No witnesses.
"Who are you?" Kai demanded.
The girl smiled faintly.
"That's a very common question tonight."
Kai's patience was running thin.
"You saw the dragon."
"You knew something about my bloodline."
"So start talking."
The girl stepped forward slowly.
Her silver hair shimmered under the streetlight.
"You're surprisingly calm," she said.
"Most people would be panicking right now."
Kai crossed his arms.
"I almost got eaten by a dragon tonight."
"I think I've used up my panic quota."
The girl laughed softly.
Then her expression turned serious.
"You're in danger."
Kai raised an eyebrow.
"I figured that part out already."
She shook her head.
"No. You don't understand."
"The dragon noticing you changed everything."
Kai felt a chill run down his spine.
"What do you mean?"
The girl looked directly into his eyes.
"The moment your dragon blood awakened…"
"You became visible."
Kai frowned.
"Visible to who?"
The girl answered quietly.
"To the ones who hunt dragons."
Kai felt his stomach tighten.
"The Dragon Hunters."
She nodded slowly.
"You've heard of them already."
Kai sighed.
"Yeah. My system told me."
For the first time, the girl looked surprised.
"Your system?"
Kai froze.
Oops.
He had said too much.
The girl's violet eyes sharpened.
"Interesting."
"You have a system connected to your dragon bloodline."
Kai quickly tried to change the topic.
"You still haven't answered my question."
"Who are you?"
The girl studied him carefully.
Then she finally said—
"My name is Lyra."
Kai repeated the name quietly.
"Lyra."
She nodded.
"And unlike you, Kai Draven…"
"I've known about the Dragon Sovereign System for a very long time."
Kai's eyes widened.
"How do you know my name?"
Lyra didn't answer.
Instead she pointed toward the sky.
The dimensional gate above Blackridge was beginning to stabilize again.
But something inside it moved.
Something enormous.
Kai noticed it too.
His system flashed instantly.
[Danger Detected]
Lyra spoke quietly.
"The dragon that came earlier…"
Kai looked back at her.
"What about it?"
Lyra's voice turned serious.
"That dragon was only a scout."
Kai felt his blood run cold.
"A scout?"
Lyra nodded slowly.
"The real ones…"
"…are still inside the gate."
Kai stared at the sky.
If what she was saying was true—
Then the dragon that almost destroyed the city earlier…
Was only the beginning.
The system suddenly flashed a red alert.
[New Event Detected]
[Multiple Dragon Signatures]
Kai's heart pounded.
"How many?"
The system answered instantly.
[Three]
Kai whispered under his breath.
"Oh… that's bad."
Lyra stepped closer to him.
"You don't have much time."
Kai looked at her.
"What are you talking about?"
Lyra's eyes glowed faintly violet.
"Because the Dragon Hunters are already moving."
Kai frowned.
"And how do you know that?"
Lyra's smile returned.
"Because they sent me."
Kai's eyes widened.
"What?"
Before Kai could react—
The ground behind them exploded.
BOOM!
A massive shockwave shattered the street.
Three dark figures landed between them.
Each one wore black armor covered in strange symbols.
Their weapons glowed with dragon-killing runes.
One of them raised his blade slowly.
Then he spoke coldly.
"Dragon bloodline detected."
His helmet turned toward Kai.
"Target confirmed."
Kai clenched his fists.
Because now he understood the truth.
The hunt had already begun.
What will Kai do now?
Why did Lyra bring the Dragon Hunters directly to him?
And what terrifying battle is about to begin?
What will happen next?
