The mountains remained quiet.
For the first time in what felt like forever, there was no sound of battle. No explosions. No roars of war.
Only wind.
And wings.
Royal dragons continued to circle the sky above the mountain, their movements calm and steady. Some rested on the cliffs, their massive bodies glowing faintly under the sunlight.
Ariana stood near the edge of the cliff, watching them.
Her body still felt heavy.
The power she used earlier had drained her more than she wanted to admit.
Kael noticed.
"You should sit."
Ariana shook her head.
"I am fine."
"You almost passed out five minutes ago."
"That was five minutes ago."
Kael crossed his arms.
"That is not how recovery works."
Ariana gave him a small look.
"You sound like a healer."
Kael smirked.
"I am full of hidden talents."
Ariana almost smiled.
But her gaze returned to the sky.
"So… what happens now?"
Kael followed her gaze.
"Now?"
He shrugged.
"We wait for the next problem."
