"Rufus… died in the holding cell?" Cate asked as she read the news article. Her eyes wandered to Adem for a moment.
"Apparently he did. But I don't think that weasel would kill himself. Nor was he on drugs like the article claims. Someone probably killed him to hide the fact a Godolkin Crime Fighting student had raped 12+ women." He said as he sighed before noticing the look Cate was giving him. "No Cate, I didn't kill him. If I wanted to, I would have killed him before taking him to the cops."
Cate nodded at that, but a tear dropped from her eyes. "He is gone, and I- I kinda feel relieved." She said and he gave her a hug and kissed her head
"Don't worry Cate. As long as I am here. No one will ever hurt you again."
— Dean Shetty's Office, General POV —
"Khan has been harder to control than we predicted." Madelyn Stillwell said with a frown on her face.
"Well, considering the fact that apparently Rufus raped Cate, I say he had let the kid go fairly easy." Professor Brink said as he pulled out a cigar, "If it was me, I would have ripped the little shit head's off."
"His reaction might have been normal, but we do not want someone normal. We want a Supe on par with Homelander that is manageable for Vought's best interest. Not one who goes on to act the same way Homelander does." Madelyn said with frustration apparent in her voice. "Not only that, Shetty, didn't you say Cate revealed to you in your last session that Khan was apparently immune to her powers? Even Homelander is merely resistant to mental powers. This will make controlling him even more difficult." Madelyn said with a worried look on her face.
Starlight and Deep drama has been testing her limits these past few days, and she was just reaching a point where she blows up on someone undeserving.
"There are psychological manipulation methods. We can still control him by controlling Cate, albeit, the control will not be as precise as we had initially hoped." Dean Shetty states
"Well, we did manage to send our clean up team. Rufus has been Eipstein'ed, and the police have been bribed and records have been altered. He will appear to have been there due to a drug usage, which he OD'd in his cell. Godolkin might get some back lash but that will be minimal considering the situation." Professor Brink said
"I don't give a shit about back lash. I want a good Homelander Level Supe we can control." Madelyn said in an irritated tone before taking a deep breath. "I am sorry for losing my temper with you. I just have a lot on my plate right now, and it looks like the one egg I was hoping to replace the rotten one we got is not as good as I had hoped." She said
"Huh!" Brink laughed a little. "You won't find a Supe like that in a million years. The goal was never to have a God Tier Supe under our control. It was to have a deterrent against your blue baby in that Tower."
Madelyn glared at the older man for a moment but he met her glare with a smug grin.
She then smile ever so slightly. "I suppose you are right… But Mr. Edgar himself wanted me to express his disappointment." She said and everyone in the room stifled a little. "He wants to go on with the Golden Boy in addition to Khan. See which one of them reaches that level soon and is a better hero."
Everyone understood what this meant. The project in the Woods was a go.

"Come on Cate, we watched that soldier boy movie last night. So I'll get to decide what we are going to watch tonight."
"You are going to make me watch one of those silly cartoons aren't you?" She said much to his horror.

Adem thought about it for a minute. He could not rush such an important topic, the first anime was always special. Most people recommend Death note as a beginner anime, but Adem knew Cate's taste. The perfect anime for her is none other than "One Piece… we are watching One Piece!"
