Chapter 3 - Chapter 3:It's my turn, draw a card!

Chapter 3 My Turn, Draw Cards!

"So they are currently experiencing economic hardship?"

Cipher listened to the discussion outside the door, lost in thought.

"Should I try robbing the rich to help the poor later? With Trick Demigod's abilities, I shouldn't mess things up, right?"

"Furthermore, the system previously mentioned that we could earn Stellar Jade for gacha pulls through 'influence,' so wouldn't transferring the wealth of those rich people to the Spark Team also count as a form of 'influence'?"

Thinking of this, Cipher began to silently recite the system's name, but after reciting it for a long time, the system did not respond at all.

"It seems to be a system without intelligence," Cipher frowned and concluded. "But if this system doesn't appear, how am I supposed to draw cards?"

Just as Cipher uttered the words "draw a card," a familiar mechanical voice rang out again.

[You currently have 1600 Stellar Jade (from the newbie gift pack). Would you like to draw a card?]

"Hmm? The system is responding? Could it be because of the words 'card draw'?"

Cipher suddenly realized that the system was indeed unintelligent, but the option to draw cards would appear as soon as he mentioned it.

"The newbie gift pack actually gave me so much Stellar Jade, so... I'll just give it a ten-pull!"

Upon hearing that he actually had 1,600 stellar jades, just enough for a ten-pull, Cipher immediately became excited.

[Okay, 1600 Stellar Jade have been consumed. Drawing for you...]

She stuck out her tongue and licked her lips, her eyes shining as she stared at the subtitles in front of her. Even the tail behind her stood up straight, and the tip of the tail began to tremble slightly.

If I'm lucky enough, maybe this ten-pull will produce a burst of golden light!

Cipher thought to himself, feeling very much looking forward to it.

Then the subtitles began to glow with a purple light.

Well, my luck still wasn't good enough.

Upon seeing this, Cipher's eyes instantly dimmed, and even his cat ears and tail, which had been standing upright, drooped down.

"Sigh, I should have thought of that sooner. How could the rice pool withdraw gold so easily ahead of time?"

After letting out a slightly frustrated sigh, Cipher looked back at the system's subtitles, wanting to see what exactly had been extracted.

[Congratulations to the Host for obtaining: 5 boxes of dried small fish (blue), 1 box of EMP (electromagnetic pulse) grenades (purple), 2 boxes of nougat balls (blue), 1 box of su le da (blue), and 1 quantum storage (purple)]

"Hiss... System, tell me, you call this the Honkai: Star Rail gacha system?"

Looking at the bunch of things displayed on the subtitles in front of him, Cipher felt his mind was a bit confused.

Putting aside nougat balls and su le da, which are at least part of Honkai: Star Rail, what are quantum storage and emp grenade? What are they for? Is this Operation Eight Treasure Porridge or Call of Duty?

[The item has been placed in the system space and can be accessed at any time.]

However, the aloof system ignored Cipher and disappeared after saying those words to itself.

"Alright, let me see what these two purple ones are for."

As she spoke, Cipher silently recited "system space" in her mind, and as she expected, a screen that looked exactly like the backpack bar in Honkai: Star Rail appeared in front of Cipher's eyes.

However, unlike Honkai: Star Rail, this backpack doesn't have other categories, such as those for light cones, training materials, quest items, and so on.

All the items Cipher obtained from the recent gacha pull are now in this backpack.

As soon as he opened his backpack, Cipher's eyes were drawn to the thing called " quantum storage ".

Then, a description appeared before her eyes.

[ Quantum Storage ] (Purple Item):

"This is a little red mouse that was brought out by a mouse using a chicken bomb to escape from a game next door that you can't find, beat, or get rid of. After being modified by a mysterious force, it came into this system's card pool."

Function: After inserting Quantum Storage into the Terminal, credit points on the Terminal's owner account can be quickly transferred into Quantum Storage. At the same time, users can also transfer credit points previously stored in Quantum Storage into it.

(P.S.: Thank you to all the readers for letting me know. I now know it's quantum storage, but I was careless and kept thinking it was quantum storage, which led to it being called quantum storage for the last forty-odd chapters. Although I noticed it in the forty-odd chapters and changed it to quantum storage, it's really hard to change the previous ones back. Sorry ( ๑ŏ ﹏ ŏ๑ ) )

"Uh... it really is Operation Eight Treasure Porridge. And what's with the 'chicken shell withdrawal'? Just say it's a humiliating withdrawal."

Looking at the description above, Cipher muttered a somewhat speechless comment before continuing to read on.

Then...

Her eyes instantly turned into the shape of gold coins.

"Does this mean I can just use this tool to steal all other people's money?!"

Cipher murmured excitedly to himself.

Although she didn't know what a personal terminal was, based on the conversation she had just overheard with the Spark Team, credit points should be the currency of this world. So, combined with her experience reading some science fiction novels, she deduced that a personal terminal was something similar to a mobile bank card and an ID card all in one.

To put it bluntly, this tool allows you to steal all the money from someone's bank account once you get hold of their phone!

Which cat wouldn't be tempted by something this good?

After calming his excitement, Cipher turned his attention to another purple consumable.

[ emp grenade ] x50 (purple consumable):

"Stop looking at it, I've never played Call of Duty. This is just an ordinary EMP grenade."

Effect: It causes all electromagnetic devices within a ten-meter radius to temporarily malfunction and will cause irreversible damage to some circuits and similar items.

Cipher rolled his eyes, not wanting to comment on the description.

After reading the instructions, she closed the system inventory, then pretended to be a college student and looked towards the door.

Because at this point, the Spark Team's discussion had ended, and they were walking towards the room.

Luo Lin first walked up to Cipher, smiled, then extended her hand and said to Cipher:

"Why don't you join our team? After all, you've lost your memory. If you don't know where to go, come join our team."

"OK."

Seeing Luo Lin extend her hand, Cipher pretended to hesitate for a moment, then agreed to her suggestion and shook her hand in return.

"If you don't want to... oh? You're that easy to agree to?"

Luo Lin originally wanted to try to persuade Cipher, but he didn't expect Cipher to agree so quickly. Was he really that naive?

Now, Luo Lin actually started to worry.

If Cipher is so naive, wouldn't she be easily fooled by those strange older men...? And Cipher is so beautiful...

Thinking of this, Luo Lin shuddered and then hurriedly tried to dissuade Cipher from thinking twice before acting.

But before she could say it, Cipher interrupted:

"Although I have amnesia, I am still very strong!"

"Also, I can distinguish between good and evil. You are all good people, which is why I agreed so quickly. Don't underestimate me!"

Even if you really are bad people, you still can't beat me.

After saying that, Cipher crossed his arms and struck a pose that said, "I'm really strong, don't underestimate me."

Although others might see this action as mostly cute.

Seeing this, the Spark Team members looked at each other in bewilderment, and it was finally Luo Lin who came to the senses.

She immediately hugged Cipher tightly, and while Cipher's feline brain briefly went blank, he happily said:

"Welcome Cipher to the Spark Team! The team has grown to another member!"
