Chapter 9: There's definitely ice in those dried fish!

Bagged Dried Fish Snacks x49 (Blue Consumable)

"Every single dried fish snack in this bag has been sprinkled by the manufacturer with powerful catnip flakes, making adorable kittens instantly fall in love. Each one... is a testament to the manufacturer's deep indulgence for cats!"

(P.S. Although catnip doesn't make food taste better, the manufacturer's original wish was to create a food that cats would love so much they couldn't resist. However, being uncultured, he chose to sprinkle catnip... So, this system has imbued these dried fish snacks with a bit of mysterious power to fulfill his wish. They are non-toxic to cats, so please enjoy with peace of mind (∠・ω<) ⌒ ☆)

Effect: Edible, special attack on cats.

"Heh... heh heh heh..."

Looking at the description, Sai Fei'er was so amused she started laughing.

"He wanted to create a food that cats would love so much they couldn't resist... and this is what he created..."

"What the heck is the difference between this and a *drug*?!"

For the first time, Sai Fei'er felt profoundly speechless and slightly on the verge of a breakdown.

So all those dried fish snacks in the system's inventory, besides for herself, were normal food for everyone else?!

Although the system said it wasn't poisonous and was incredibly delicious, making her want more... No, no, no, no! She couldn't get addicted!!!

What kind of dried fish snack makes you get hard-controlled for several seconds after eating just a few pieces?! Is this food or a weapon?!

After an internal scream, Sai Fei'er finally accepted the cruel reality for her little cat self.

And so, under the worried gazes of the three Spark Team members, she sat on the ground, hugging her knees in despair.

This wasn't the sadness of not being able to eat or having to deny herself something. It was the sadness of forcefully resisting eating a delicious food that was non-toxic and harmless (physically).

At this moment, Luo Lin, who had been standing not far away, couldn't bear it anymore and slowly approached Sai Fei'er.

"Sister Saifeier, you... don't look like you're alright..."

"I'm really fine. It's just that knowing certain things has made me a little sad."

"Oh, and that bag of dried fish snacks is fine. You guys eat them. I won't be having any."

As she spoke, Sai Fei'er pointed a hand towards the bag of dried fish snacks not far away.

The three members of Spark Team exchanged glances. Finally, Luo Lin pulled Lin Wei and Xiong Lei outside, also picking up the bag of dried fish snacks from the ground and taking it with them.

Outside the house, the three gathered in a circle and started discussing again.

Xiong Lei scratched his head in confusion. He glanced towards the living room again, then turned to Luo Lin and asked:

"Captain... is something wrong with Sai Fei'er?"

"Sister Saifeier said... it's because she learned certain things... Could it be that she's recovered some memories?"

Facing Xiong Lei's question, Luo Lin pondered for a moment, stroking her chin, before answering.

"I agree with the captain's deduction. Because I saw Sai Fei'er act strangely only after she took a bite of what was inside. I think it must have triggered her memories."

At this point, Lin Wei, who was beside them, also chimed in.

"If that's the case... should we just let Sai Fei'er be alone for a while?"

After hearing their deductions, Xiong Lei scratched his head and offered his suggestion.

"Hmm, Big Xiong, you're right. Then, please help clean up one of the rooms. I originally wanted to sleep with Sister Saifeier, but unfortunately... let's talk about it later."

Luo Lin sighed, looking a bit disappointed. Then she took out the dried fish snacks, sealed the opening simply, and put them into her spatial ring.

"Let's put this away for now. Sister Saifeier seems really afraid of this stuff right now."

..."Phew... I finally controlled myself. I knew this stuff was no different from *drugs*!"

Once Luo Lin took the bag of dried fish snacks from the ground, Sai Fei'er began to contend with the dried fish snacks in her system inventory.

The outcome was quite good. Although those dried fish snacks were indeed delicious in her mouth, ultimately, they were just food. They didn't have the same addictive quality as ice.

So Sai Fei'er only took a few minutes to control herself. Now, she was terrifyingly strong. Even if those dried fish snacks were placed right in front of her, she could remain indifferent!

After successfully controlling her desires, Sai Fei'er opened her eyes and looked around, only to find that the living room was empty, with only her still sitting on the ground.

"Huh? Where did they go?"

She tilted her head slightly in confusion. Then, the cat ears on her head twitched faintly. Through her keen hearing, Sai Fei'er quickly picked up on the trio's movements.

The three of them seemed to be gathered in one room, doing who knows what.

After getting the information, Sai Fei'er stood up, brushed off some dust from her clothes, and then walked towards that room.

Just as she was about to reach the doorway, the room door opened. Xiong Lei was carrying a box and walking out into the living room.

Upon seeing Sai Fei'er, Xiong Lei first froze for a moment, then gave her a smile.

"Sai Fei'er, are you feeling better?"

"Much better, thank you for your concern. By the way, what are you all doing now?"

Sai Fei'er also smiled back at Xiong Lei, then asked about their activities.

Hearing her question, Xiong Lei placed the box he was carrying on the ground. He first wiped a thin layer of sweat from his forehead, then casually closed the door behind him, and explained:

"We're cleaning this room right now. Once it's clean, it can serve as a bedroom for you, Sai Fei'er."

"Cleaning a room, huh... Then thank you all!"

Sai Fei'er nodded thoughtfully. Immediately after, she saw the box next to Xiong Lei and, after a moment of thought, asked:

"Is this box going somewhere? If it's nothing important, do you need my help to move it?"

"It's nothing important. Just move it to the room across the living room, but..."

"In that case, leave it to me!"

Before Xiong Lei could finish speaking, Sai Fei'er, upon hearing that it wasn't an important item, immediately grabbed the box and lifted it, then quickly walked towards the corner Xiong Lei was pointing to.

"This box is very heavy..."

Watching Sai Fei'er effortlessly lift the box, seemingly without any strain, Xiong Lei opened his mouth. After instinctively uttering the unfinished words from before, he fell silent.

He looked at Sai Fei'er's retreating figure, then lowered his gaze to his own hands, filled with various scars and calluses, and fell into a daze.

A box that I found somewhat heavy to carry was easily picked up by a young girl. I really am too weak... "Big Xiong, I already said we could use my spatial ring to transport this box later! Why did you just carry such a heavy thing away like that?!"

At this moment, the room door opened, and a somewhat displeased Luo Lin walked out of the room.

But very quickly, she noticed Xiong Lei standing frozen at the doorway.

"Big Xiong, where's the box?"

Luo Lin didn't see the box and asked Xiong Lei with some confusion.

She hadn't discovered it that late. Logically, with such a heavy box, Xiong Lei should have been carrying it for at least a while, but why wasn't the box by his side now?

Xiong Lei didn't speak but silently pointed in a direction.

Luo Lin followed Xiong Lei's pointed direction and saw Sai Fei'er, carrying the box with an easy expression, walking into the room.

"..."

And so, Luo Lin also fell silent.
