Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Even though cats hate dogs, it doesn't mean they can't kill them with a slap

Chapter 5: Cats may dislike dogs, but that doesn't mean they can't slap a dog to death.

Seeing that the mercenary's words were getting increasingly outrageous, Luo Lin couldn't hold back any longer and took a step forward, wanting to argue with the mercenary.

But before she could speak, Cipher, who was standing to the side, stopped her.

Who do you think you are?

"What?"

The mercenary was taken aback, seemingly not understanding what Cipher was saying.

"I'll tell you! And what are you then? A rabid dog that bites anyone it sees, hasn't been spayed/neutered, and is still in heat?"

"You called me a mad dog?! You! You f***ing..."

"What do you mean, 'you'? Has your tongue been soaked in alcohol and become so sore that you can't speak anymore? Or are you unable to form any other language and can only bark repeatedly like a mad dog?"

Before the mercenary could finish speaking, Cipher immediately interrupted him, not giving him a chance to continue.

"Hmph, you keep talking about 'women' and 'useless'... Then why are you still here drinking instead of going to take on a mission? In the end, aren't you also a useless person, unable to take on missions, so you can only sit at a table with 'women'?"

"Might makes right... How big is your fist? You talk so big, but if you're so capable, why don't you challenge the rule-makers?"

At this point, Cipher rested his chin on his hand as if deep in thought, then suddenly realized what he meant.

"Oh, I see! So, it's because they only need one finger to crush your so-called 'fist' to pieces!"

"So all you do is talk the talk, wear the skin of a 'rule maker,' and then swagger around, barking at everyone you see?"

"After all...aren't the ones that bark the loudest often the most cowardly watchdogs?"

"Like this, woof woof woof?"

At this point, Cipher casually placed his two hands in front of him, opening and closing his palms with each "woof," as if imitating a canine opening its mouth.

Faced with Cipher's sarcasm, the mercenary's face turned as red as a ripe apple, but unfortunately, it was a rotten apple with a pitted and uneven surface.

His hand, which was tightly gripping the wine glass, was trembling slightly, and he didn't even notice the cheap alcohol spilling out.

"What's wrong? You can't speak, so you can only rage helplessly?"

Seeing that the mercenary in front of her hadn't uttered a single word for a long time, Cipher immediately felt very bored. She had thought that the person's previous swearing would surely allow her to unleash the long-dormant Zaunian pianist skills from her past life, but after only a few words, he hadn't even reached a tenth of his peak performance in his past life. How could he have already withered away?

She had originally wanted to try the Six Arts of a Gentleman from her previous life's online forum, but it was boring.

"Sigh, I waited for ages, but there were no new words. I didn't get to enjoy it at all."

Cipher sighed, then bent down, his blue eyes staring directly at the mercenary before him.

"That's why I said it from the beginning..."

As she spoke, she supported herself with her left hand while placing her other hand in front of her, pointing at the mercenary's face.

After completing these actions, Cipher continued, enunciating each word clearly:

"What exactly are you?!"

With each word Cipher uttered, his gold-painted nails would gently poke his nose.

"You bastard, you're asking for it!"

Ultimately, the feeling of being pointed at and humiliated was like the last straw that broke the camel's back. Overwhelmed by rage, the mercenary lost all reason and threw a punch at Cipher.

"careful!"

Seeing the mercenary suddenly attack, Luo Lin immediately called out to warn him and stepped forward to try to stop the attack.

Before she could do anything, Cipher, as if he had anticipated it, took a step back to avoid the attack.

"Oh dear, oh dear~ Looks like the mad dog's gotten desperate, it's actually trying to bite someone, how terrifying~"

Cipher clutched his chest, feigning fright, but his expression remained mocking as he smirked at the mercenary trembling with rage.

The mercenary remained silent, his eyes bloodshot as he charged toward Cipher.

Seeing this, Luo Lin pulled out a stick and prepared to fight, but before she could even step forward, Cipher gently pushed her away, taking her out of the battle.

Luo Lin, who was being pushed out, looked at Cipher with some confusion. She didn't understand why Cipher had been stopping her from taking action.

Cipher, while easily dodging the mercenary's attacks, leisurely explained to Luo Lin:

"Don't worry... He can't do anything to me, let me play with him a bit more."

'This is also a good opportunity to get used to my body; it doesn't hurt even if I get hit.'

Seeing that Cipher was still distracted by talking to other people despite his frantic attacks, and the crucial point was that he couldn't even touch a single cat hair while she was distracted, he broke down again.

The mercenary stopped attacking, stood still, and pointed at Cipher with bloodshot eyes, shouting loudly:

"You filthy bitch, you were all talk before, but when it comes to fighting, all you do is hide! You bastard, if you're so tough, then don't hide!"

Cipher rolled his eyes, then jumped back, creating a considerable distance between himself and the mercenary.

"Your mouth is full of foul language. It's clear that your mouth is not clean. It seems that you ate too much of some kind of substance when you were a dog."

"Since you're so eager to get beaten up, then I'll..."

Before he could finish speaking, Cipher vanished from the spot.

The Mercenary Association members, who had been watching the show from the sidelines, only felt a golden-purple lightning bolt flash by. The next instant, to the mercenary's horrified gaze, Cipher appeared before him.

"I'll grant your wish."

After saying that, Cipher suddenly leaned back.

Before the mercenary could react, the tip of the golden high-heeled boot struck him precisely in the chin.

Then, everyone saw the mercenary... fly up.

It flew about five meters high, then quickly fell down with a thud, smashing the seat the mercenary had been sitting in to pieces.

Liquor and sawdust flew everywhere, red, white (beer foam and foaming mouths, don't get the wrong idea, no one died), and green sawdust mixed together, resembling an abstract graffiti painting.

As for Cipher, she did a backflip in the air and landed gracefully on the ground.

After brushing off non-existent dust from his hands, Cipher raised his cat head and turned proudly toward Luo Lin.

"See, I told you before, I'm very strong."
