Hiroshi and Ishin stared at Leon as he took his offensive stance, the blue spear pulsing in his hand with chakra that tore through the air around it. And all they could feel from him was certain death, every one of their battle instincts confirming that the end of their story would come from the weapon in the hands of the being standing before them.
Hiroshi turned to Ishin beside him atop the fused giant and said in a calm voice, "I will use all my power and the abilities of both my eyes in this final attack, so you focus all of your chakra into this strike as well."
Ishin looked at him for a moment with calm eyes before giving a silent nod.
A gigantic sword blade began to form in the hand of the fused giant, pulsing with dense and concentrated blue light. Hiroshi used the ability of his eye that allowed him to gather all chakra into a single focused attack, exhausting everything he possessed in this one strike down to the very last drop. He even went further and used all of Ishin's chakra as well, whose reserves were vastly greater than his own.
Then, to make the attack even more dangerous, he activated the ability of his other eye that allowed him to increase his speed tenfold, causing the attack to carry unimaginable power and overwhelming speed.
The giant raised the radiant blade high into the sky, blue light pouring from it with increasing intensity until the entire region was illuminated by its brilliance.
Leon shouted in response with obvious excitement as he watched the attack taking shape.
"Hahahahaha! What a magnificent attack!"
The two young men looked at him with relaxed smiles filled with deep satisfaction, then Hiroshi Uchiha said in a steady voice, "We have put everything we have into this attack. All of our power. I hope it satisfies you."
Leon replied, "Hahahahaha! Your determination has reached me, heroes."
Then Ishin said with a smile, "If there is a chance, I hope we meet again and become friends in the next life."
Leon smiled at him silently and did not answer with any words.
Then the expressions of the two young men changed at the same time into stern seriousness, and together they shouted with all their strength in a thunderous roar that made the air tremble.
"HWAAAAAAAH!"
They unleashed the blue attack in the form of a sword from the hand of the fused giant, cutting through the air around it with dazzling sharpness to the point that space itself seemed disturbed by the passage of something possessing such power, sharpness, and speed.
Leon stared at the powerful attack rushing toward him without moving from his position and said in a calm voice filled with genuine admiration, "What a beautiful attack. It carries an unyielding will. Therefore, I shall answer it with a stronger one in response to that will."
The veins on the hand gripping the spear bulged from the force of his tight grasp, and he pressed his feet into the ground with tremendous strength until massive cracks spread throughout the entire area around him as though he were the source of an earthquake. Then a moment of silence fell, as though the entire world had stopped.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
Leon launched the spear forward in a single straight and direct motion. It pierced through its path with such speed that it left behind not even a sound, only a sharp tear in the fabric of space itself stretching behind it as the sole trace of its passage.
When it pierced through the giant's attack, it did not stop and did not explode. It simply drilled through it with unbelievable speed and passed straight through its center, causing the attack to disperse into the air like tiny glowing blue stars fading away.
Hiroshi looked toward the left side of his body and found nothing there. His arm, shoulder, and part of his internal organs had disappeared as though they had completely evaporated from existence.
And strangely, he had not even seen how the attack had pierced him, nor had he felt any pain at all. It was as though a part of him had existed one moment and then simply ceased to exist the next.
At exactly the same time, the same thing happened to Ishin. The entire right side of his body vanished completely. The spear had passed between them with astonishing precision and devoured a fatal portion of each of their bodies without either of them even feeling it, because the speed and power involved were beyond what human senses could perceive.
The two young men looked at each other, peaceful and comfortable smiles on their faces, completely free of regret. Ishin spoke in a faint voice.
"It was truly an honor to know you in this life."
Hiroshi Uchiha replied, and the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan vanished from his eyes automatically as they returned to their natural state.
"Me too, idiot."
He said it with a warmth that carried the genuine companionship born between them through the many battles they had fought alongside one another against their opponent, the King of Beasts. Then the light slowly faded from the eyes of the two young men, yet they remained standing in place atop the giant, which had reverted to the form of a wooden golem.
The lives of two heroes who had reached the peak of their power came to an end. Together they had achieved a legend that had never happened before and would be incredibly difficult to ever repeat. Even in death, their bodies remained standing, refusing to fall.
Among the spectators, silence fell upon everyone. The members of the Uchiha and Senju clans, who had kept their eyes away from Leon and watched only their patriarchs, raised their heads and realized what had happened. Some lowered their heads, some silently wiped their eyes, and some simply stared without being able to look away from the two figures still standing.
The end had arrived exactly as they had expected, yet seeing it with their own eyes felt completely different from merely anticipating it.
