A Dangerous Alliance
The motorcycle raced through the busy streets.
Cars honked as Victor skillfully moved between traffic.
Behind them, the black car continued the chase.
Ryan shouted over the wind,
"You could have warned us!"
Victor laughed slightly.
"And ruin the dramatic entrance?"
Ariba held tightly to the bike.
"Focus on the road!"
They finally reached an abandoned bridge outside the city.
Victor stopped the motorcycle.
The black car was no longer behind them.
For now… they were safe.
Ryan stepped off the bike immediately.
"Start talking."
Victor leaned against the railing calmly.
"The real Phoenix leader is called The Architect."
Ariba frowned.
"The Architect?"
Victor nodded.
"He's the one who created the entire Phoenix network years ago."
Ryan asked,
"And you worked for him?"
Victor shrugged.
"Everyone did."
Ariba crossed her arms.
"Then why help us?"
Victor looked directly at her.
"Because the Architect thinks you're dangerous."
Ryan asked quietly,
"Why?"
Victor answered with one sentence.
"Because your father discovered his identity."
Ariba's heart pounded again.
"Who is he?"
Victor looked at both of them.
Then he said something that shocked them.
"The Architect… is someone inside the government."
Silence filled the bridge.
Ryan whispered,
"So this is bigger than we thought."
Victor nodded slowly.
"Oh, much bigger."
At that moment a helicopter sound echoed in the sky.
Ariba looked up.
A dark helicopter was flying directly toward them.
Victor sighed.
"Looks like he already found us."
The helicopter spotlight suddenly turned on.
Blinding white light covered the bridge.
A voice echoed from a loudspeaker.
"Ariba Rahman… surrender immediately."
Ryan whispered,
"Now we're really in trouble."
