The blue vortex of the Frost Realm portal spat them out onto a bed of crunching ice, and an immediate blast of frigid wind hit Kael (Zhu Shen) square in the face. The air was so cold it burned his lungs, and his breath turned to thick white mist before dissipating. Above, the sky was a bruised purple, streaked with green and pink auroras that cast an otherworldly glow over the landscape. The ground stretched onward as a sea of jagged ice and snow-covered peaks, with frozen waterfalls hanging from cliff sides like crystal curtains and gnarled, ice-encrusted trees dotting the horizon. This was no winter wonderland—it was a lethal, unforgiving zone, where the cold itself felt like an enemy.

The 10 damage/sec was negligible, but he glanced at the others—Yun Feng (Phantom) shivered, his Frost Resistance only 40%, while Luna (Lila) was wrapped in a faint green aura from her Blessed Moonbloom Pollen, her resistance boosted to 60%.
"Drink these," Kael said, pulling Frost Resistance Elixirs from his inventory and passing them around. "They'll last 30 minutes—Frost Resistance +30%."

Yun Feng raised his staff, and a vortex of flames erupted, engulfing the first Frost Giant. The ice on its chest melted, revealing gray, rocky skin.

They pushed deeper into the outer zone, hunting Frost Giants and Lv.26 Frost Wraith Lords. The battles were tough—each elite took 5-10 minutes to defeat—but the rewards were worth it. Kael hit Lv.21, dumping his 5 free points into Strength (Total 45), his attack jumping to 225-232. Gareth and Yun Feng hit Lv.21 and Lv.23 respectively, and Luna climbed to Lv.15, unlocking a new support skill: [Stardust Aura] (Passive: Allies within 10 meters gain 5% HP Regen + 5% Frost Resistance).

"We're ready for Glacial Spire Pass," Kael said, checking his map. The pass loomed ahead—a narrow gap between two snow-capped peaks, its entrance blocked by a wall of ice. "Eve's guards are there—let's move quietly. We don't want to alert the entire encampment."
Gareth nodded, vanishing into the shadows. "I'll scout ahead. Meet me at the ice wall in 5 minutes."
He vanished, and the others followed slowly, sticking to the shadows of ice boulders. Luna knelt occasionally to gather [Frostbloom] (a Lv.25 alchemy material), her Stardust Aura keeping their HP topped up.
When they reached the ice wall, Gareth was waiting, his face grim. "Eve has 15 elites at the pass—Lv.27-29. And she's there, too—talking to a Lv.30 Frost Lord. They're planning to attack the Frost Core tomorrow, to claim the [Frostheart Relic]."
Kael's eyes narrowed. The Frostheart Relic—Yun Feng had mentioned it earlier. A Legendary item that granted absolute control over frost energy. If Eve got her hands on it, she'd be unstoppable.
"We need to stop them," Yun Feng said, his voice low. "But 15 elites + Eve + a Lv.30 Lord? We're outnumbered."
Luna pulled a handful of [Frostbloom] from her pouch. "I can make [Frostbloom Smoke Bombs]—they blind and slow enemies for 5s. And I have enough Stardust Moss for 20 more Healing Potions."
Kael smiled faintly. "We don't need to fight them all. We just need to create a distraction, slip past the guards, and reach the Frost Core first. The relic is our priority."
He pulled out the Frost Giant Cores, handing them to Yun Feng. "Can you craft these into [Frost Core Explosives]? Something that can take down the ice wall and draw the guards away?"
Yun Feng nodded, grinning. "Give me 10 minutes. These cores are packed with frost energy—one explosion will shake the pass."
While Yun Feng worked, Kael and Gareth scouted the area, mapping the guards' patrol routes. Luna mixed Frostbloom with Moonbloom Pollen, creating smoke bombs that glowed with faint blue light.
10 minutes later, Yun Feng held up three glowing orbs—[Frost Core Explosives]. "These will detonate on impact, dealing 300 AoE frost damage and collapsing the ice wall. The blast will draw every guard to the entrance."
Kael nodded, taking an explosive. "Plan: Yun, detonate the explosives. Gareth, take down the two guards on the left. Luna, throw smoke bombs to blind the others. I'll clear a path to the pass. Once we're through, we head straight for the Frost Core—no stopping for loot."
Everyone nodded, their expressions determined.
Yun Feng crept to the ice wall, placing the explosive at its base. He activated it with a whisper, then sprinted back to the others.

Gareth vanished, reappearing behind the left guards. His dagger sliced through their throats.

As they neared the Frost Core, a blue light wrapped around them—a system notification blaring in their ears:

The Frost Warden.
"We have to defeat him fast," Kael said, his voice tight. "Eve is right behind us."
Gareth nodded, his dagger glinting. "Let's finish this."
They charged toward the Frost Warden, the sound of Eve's shout echoing through the inner zone:
"Zhu Shen! The relic is mine!"
The final battle for the Frostheart Relic had begun.
