It wasn't long before Mayibeia came downstairs holding Roxy's hand, her face full of anticipation.
"Remember, tonight we're definitely going to drink our fill and have a great time!" Mayibeia said excitedly, then quickly went into the kitchen to bring out some alcohol along with a few casually paired snacks.
"Sorry, Mayibeia, I can't drink too much. Getting drunk wouldn't be good." Galdaruf smiled and shook his head, politely declining. "After all, I still have to get up early tomorrow."
"Oh, I see. Well, alright then—just a little for the atmosphere!" Mayibeia replied understandingly, then poured a full cup of alcohol for everyone.
And so, a relaxed and cheerful drinking gathering began.
Time slipped quietly by amid laughter and chatter, and dinner was enjoyed together with the fine wine.
The first to stand up and excuse himself was Galdaruf. He had only taken small sips, just enough to feel full, showing no signs of intoxication whatsoever.
"You all take your time. I'll head off to rest first." Galdaruf slowly stood up, politely bid everyone goodnight, then turned and headed upstairs. His figure gradually grew distant until it disappeared around the corner of the staircase.
"Ughhh, this old man really… going to bed so early and leaving me here all alone, practically drunk." Mayibeia grumbled. Her cheeks were already flushed bright red from the alcohol, and she looked a bit dizzy.
She lazily slumped onto the table, as if she might fall asleep at any second.
Roxy, who had drunk relatively little, looked at Mayibeia with concern upon seeing her drink so heavily. She spoke softly, "Mayibeia, maybe you should stop drinking now."
But Mayibeia waved her hand dismissively without hesitation. "Ahh, it's fine! We agreed tonight we'd drink to our hearts' content!"
Meanwhile, Dan Feng remained quite composed. He simply drank water in silence. After finishing one cup of alcohol at Mayibeia's insistence, he firmly refused any more and stuck to water thereafter.
"But Mayibeia, you…" Before Roxy could finish her sentence, Mayibeia—as if she hadn't heard—tilted her head back and chugged down another large gulp.
"Burp!" Mayibeia let out a loud belch, then pursed her lips and muttered in complaint, "Galdaruf is way too cold to me. What a heartless, unfeeling guy!"
Although her words carried a tone of reproach, neither Dan Feng nor Roxy sensed any real blame in them. Instead, it sounded more like whining or coquetry.
Dan Feng leaned back in his chair, seemingly unbothered by Mayibeia's rant. Out of nowhere, he pulled out a book and began flipping through it leisurely.
Then he slowly spoke up.
"I actually think your confession success rate is around seventy to eighty percent. After all, Galdaruf doesn't have any other women around him, so your chances are pretty good." Dan Feng continued analyzing.
Did Mayibeia really have to wait for Galdaruf to confess first? As a demon race, shouldn't she show some boldness!
"Of course I know that, but I'm scared." The more Mayibeia spoke, the more depressed she became. The feeling of one's love going unnoticed by the other person was the most frustrating thing—yet that was exactly what unrequited love was like.
"Is it my fault? Am I really that unattractive? How come a great beauty like me has been by Galdaruf's side for so many years, and he's never once felt moved?" Mayibeia ranted wildly, downing more alcohol nonstop as she spoke.
"Uh…" Roxy, sitting beside Mayibeia, had no idea what to say anymore.
"Could it be that he doesn't like them big?" Mayibeia muttered to herself while bouncing the two ample assets in her hands, then shifted her gaze toward Roxy's comparatively modest chest nearby.
"Ah! What's with that look!" Roxy noticed Mayibeia's subtle mockery and immediately became annoyed.
She instantly reached out, grabbed Mayibeia's shoulders, and shook her vigorously.
However, the moment Roxy shook Mayibeia, there came a loud thud.
Mayibeia's head suddenly dropped like it had lost all support, slamming hard onto the table with a resounding crash.
"Eh! I didn't even shake that hard! Mayibeia, are you okay?!" Roxy's face turned deathly pale from the sudden sight. Panicked, she pushed at Mayibeia, trying to wake her.
"It's fine. She's just asleep." Dan Feng quickly spoke up to stop Roxy's actions and explained to her.
"Oh… oh." Roxy let out a relieved sigh upon hearing that.
She hurriedly withdrew her hands, then looked somewhat helplessly at Dan Feng, asking what they should do next.
"Should we carry Mayibeia back to her room?" Roxy suggested.
"I don't think that's necessary." Dan Feng revealed a meaningful smile. His ears twitched slightly, immediately catching the faint sound of movement coming from the staircase.
"Look—the protagonist has arrived." Dan Feng said to Roxy with a slight curl of his lips.
As soon as Dan Feng finished speaking, Galdaruf's figure appeared at the turn of the stairs.
"Galdaruf? Didn't he go to sleep?" Roxy looked at Galdaruf in bewilderment, her eyes full of confusion.
"How could someone sleep before a certain someone returns to her room?" Dan Feng said with a light chuckle. In truth, Dan Feng had overheard what Galdaruf said to the landlady right before leaving.
"Landlady, please let me know once Mayibeia gets drunk. I'll carry her back to her room."
"Got it!"
And when Mayibeia had just passed out from drinking, the landlady had immediately run upstairs to call Galdaruf.
At this moment, Galdaruf smiled as he lifted the drunk Mayibeia into his arms. He nodded toward Dan Feng and the others, then carried Mayibeia upstairs.
In Galdaruf's arms, Mayibeia also showed a smile—one so subtle it was almost imperceptible.
"Dan Feng, does this mean… Galdaruf likes Mayibeia too? Are they both heading toward each other?"
"Yeah. It feels like it won't be long before they're together." Dan Feng closed his book and said to Roxy.
Afterward, Dan Feng and Roxy stayed behind to clean up the mess. They washed all the plates, cups, and everything else.
"Let's go. Time to rest." Dan Feng called out to Roxy, then headed upstairs on his own.
"Okay." Roxy replied and followed Dan Feng up the stairs.
"By the way, Dan Feng, do you think there's any chance those two will spend the night together tonight?" Roxy said as they walked.
As soon as the words left her mouth, Dan Feng fell silent for a moment before slowly replying, "Probably not. I'm not sure, but with Galdaruf's personality, it wouldn't happen that fast."
