The next day, Dan Feng and Roxy Migurdia finished all their preparations. Dan Feng had just one backpack, while Roxy Migurdia carried a small handheld leather bag.
When they went downstairs, three people were waiting for them on the first floor.
They were the landlady, Mayibeia, and Galdaruf.
"Dan Feng, Roxy, take this basket of sandwiches to eat on the road." The landlady handed the basket to Dan Feng, who accepted it steadily.
"Thank you, landlady. These past two years, we've been in your care." Dan Feng looked at the landlady, speaking with firm sincerity from the bottom of his heart.
"Dan Feng, we've been together for two years after all. Galdaruf and I watched you grow during that time. You have to take good care of Roxy Migurdia, okay?" Mayibeia walked up to Dan Feng and patted his shoulder.
"You too—keep it up. I hope when I come back next time, I'll see you've achieved what you wished for." Dan Feng smiled at Mayibeia, then turned his gaze to Galdaruf.
Galdaruf nodded at him, and Dan Feng returned the nod. It was a tacit understanding unique to men—no need for many words.
"Landlady, Mayibeia, Galdaruf, goodbye!"
Right before stepping out, Roxy Migurdia reluctantly bid them farewell. Though they had only spent a few months together, she had been very happy during that time. The grievances and melancholy she felt on the Demon Continent had all been resolved one by one in Millishion.
However, in Millishion, she had also faced new grievances from racial discrimination, but she had met a few friends, which more or less canceled out those grievances.
After all, she was about to leave this country soon, so naturally she wanted to make peace with it. She thought that unless there was a real need, she would never come here again.
"May your journey be blessed by the gods." The landlady said to Dan Feng and Roxy Migurdia at last.
Then Dan Feng waved to the three of them, and he left the inn together with Roxy Migurdia.
Dan Feng and Roxy Migurdia walked along the main street. This time, they were heading west the whole way until they reached the western port of the Millis Continent, then take a ship from the western port all the way to the eastern port in the King Dragon Kingdom's region.
As for where to go after that, they would decide later.
When Dan Feng and Roxy Migurdia reached that dessert shop, Dan Feng suddenly stopped. After telling Roxy Migurdia to wait a moment, he disappeared.
On the crowded street, only Roxy Migurdia was left standing bewildered among the crowd. She had no idea what Dan Feng was going to do, so she could only wait quietly in place.
Not long after, Dan Feng returned holding something wrapped in kraft paper.
"Here, for you." Dan Feng handed the kraft paper to Roxy Migurdia.
"For me?" Roxy Migurdia carefully took the kraft paper from Dan Feng. When she looked inside, it turned out to be her favorite dessert.
"Wow, dessert! Thank you, Dan Feng." Stars lit up in Roxy Migurdia's eyes, and she immediately took a big bite without hesitation.
After the first bite, Roxy Migurdia suddenly froze. She felt like she was being a bit exaggerated when eating something sweet, but she really couldn't resist desserts!
After that, she ate slowly and didn't make that exaggerated expression again.
Once she finished, Roxy Migurdia took out a handkerchief and wiped her mouth gracefully like a lady.
"This trip is going to take a long time. You probably haven't traveled this long before, right?" Roxy Migurdia looked toward Dan Feng and noticed he seemed to be deep in thought.
So Roxy Migurdia didn't say anything more. The two of them walked on in silence.
It wasn't until they reached the western city gate that Dan Feng snapped out of his thoughts.
He had just been thinking about the Dragon Vein ability. It only affected those with close relationships—but just how close did the relationship need to be?
He asked the system, but the system didn't respond. It seemed the system only spoke when the progress bar increased; otherwise, no matter what other questions he asked, it wouldn't answer.
"Dan Feng, we've reached the city gate." Roxy Migurdia called out to him softly.
"Let's go. Once we're out of the city gate, we need to stay alert. The map seller said there are often bandits on the main road to the western port. The Millis knights don't clear them out on a large scale because the distance is too far." Dan Feng said this—it was advice from the map seller, who had clearly been robbed before.
"I see." Roxy Migurdia nodded, indicating she would stay alert.
The two smoothly exited the city gate and left the most beautiful city—Millishion.
"By the way, Dan Feng, where's your weapon?" Roxy Migurdia asked in confusion, seeing Dan Feng's hands empty.
"I have my own way of hiding it. Don't worry—my weapon is never far from me." Dan Feng said this without any intention of taking it out.
"Okay." Roxy Migurdia didn't ask further.
So the two continued walking like that until nightfall.
Dan Feng used earth magic to build a Patastar-shaped house. The two of them stayed inside to rest.
Dan Feng gathered some branches nearby. Though the branches looked a bit dirty, they were sufficient as firewood.
He piled them together and lit them with fire magic.
The flames quickly rose, illuminating the surroundings.
Fortunately, Dan Feng had made a small window in the Patastar house and used earth magic to create earthen rods to block any creatures trying to climb in through the window.
Dan Feng took out the sandwiches the landlady had prepared for them that morning from his backpack. He had already discarded the basket since it was inconvenient to carry.
He held the sandwiches over the fire for a while to warm them up.
"It's ready. You can eat now." Dan Feng said to Roxy Migurdia.
Roxy Migurdia thanked him and took the sandwich he handed her.
The two sat by the fire, enjoying this simple yet delicious dinner.
Dan Feng was very confident in his earth magic infused with a lot of mana. He believed this earthen fortress was sturdy enough to withstand any external interference.
Thus, they could rest inside without worry.
The plain at night was exceptionally quiet, with almost no sounds except the occasional chirping of insects.
Even inside the earthen fortress, they could clearly hear the noises outside.
This tranquility felt very comforting, as if the whole world consisted only of the two of them.
After finishing dinner, Roxy Migurdia soon fell asleep.
Her breathing became steady and gentle—she was clearly in a deep slumber.
Dan Feng looked at her peaceful sleeping face, and a warm feeling welled up in his heart.
"The meaning of traveling should be like this." After Dan Feng said these words, fate began to shift from that moment on.
Because there was Dan Feng, someone she could trust, beside her, Roxy Migurdia had no worries at all and slept very soundly.
Dan Feng only napped for a few hours before naturally waking up.
Ever since coming to this world, Dan Feng had found his mental state unusually vigorous.
Aside from occasionally feeling exhausted from overusing mana, he hardly needed much sleep to recover his energy.
This surprised him about his physical condition, but he also felt it was good—it gave him more time to explore this world.
It was all thanks to the system's physique enhancement rewards. With these enhancements, he was gradually transforming from a human into a Vidyadhara, or so he believed.
"I'm really looking forward to what I'll look like after transforming into a dragon, but how much progress do I need to unlock dragon transformation?"
It was already midnight by then, and the insect chirps outside had quieted down considerably.
But Dan Feng heard a different sound—it was the sound of people.
It was the sound of a large group of feet stepping on the grass, which immediately put Dan Feng on alert.
"Boss Beta, there's a mound here. Whose grave is this?"
