Keifer's Pov
I was still smiling from the encounter with Jay,
I know she is still angry at me, but in our conversation there was little moment that felt like us when I teased her and called her Jay.
So I would just take this that is being able to talk to her and see her as a win for now.
After a while David came in,
David: "You look… Cheerful.. It's weird" said and sat
I smiled,
Keifer: "Jay came in and we talked"
David: "You mean she came in to get your approval"
Keifer: "How do you know?"
David: "You were sleeping when she came in for the first time, so she asked me whether she could wake you up, I said no"
Keifer: "You didn't say anything else right?" I asked him seriously.
He looked at me with a worried look before talking
David: "No.. I didn't"
Keifer: "Good, don't talk anything about that to her"
He looked so displeased when I said that,
David: "But I think you should tell her everything"
Keifer: "No, you don't understand she need not know about this and I don't want to talk further about this Okay?"
He nodded
Keifer: "So what else?"
David: "Well I do know something"
Keifer: "What is it?"
David: "Well the HR and the consultant "Welcomed" the new joiners" he air quoted when he said welcome
Keifer: "What do you mean by that?"
David: "Are you that naive? I mean they flirted with Jay and Sara"
Keifer: "What??" I shouted
David. "Yes"
Keifer: "That is so unethical and not very professional, maybe we should just fire them"
David: "You can't unless there is a valid reason"
Keifer: "He tried flirting in the office, isn't that valid enough?"
David: "That was during break so technically it is not valid"
I got irritated when he said that news, why is everyone behind my girl, can't they go and find their own girls. But wait is Jay okay with that ? Does she have a boyfriend? i do not know? What if she does?
My brain started blowing up with all the overthinking
Keifer: " David" I shouted suddenly
He flinched
David: " What?" He asked annoyed
Keifer: "Does Jay have a boyfriend?"
David: "I don't know"
Keifer: " What do you mean? You collected information about her right?"
David: "Yeah but I do not know anything about her boyfriend, The investigator did not mention anything"
Keifer: "Can you try to find?"
David: "Sure"
After that I was a little anxious about knowing the answer, but I know my Jay she cannot move on from me, from us , I know deep down even though she hate me, I might have a little space for me in her heart, But what if I am wrong?. That thought lingered in me.
Jay's Pov
The next day I woke up early and did my chores and little baking orders and I was getting ready to go the office, I came down and as usual a car was waiting for me but this one was different, it looked like a luxury car.I was confused if this was the company's car sent to pick me up.
I went near to notice and that's when David lowered the window,
David: "Get in"
Jay: " Why are you here?"
David: "We have to visit the sight today due to change in schedule so we will be going there"
I nodded and then only noticed that Keifer was in the passenger seat in front and Sara was behind him in the back seat.
Jay: "I could have come directly, if you would have messaged me"
David: "It was a sudden change and I know use company car service, So I picked you up directly since we are going to the same place"
I finally took my place and gave a look to Sara and spoke softly
Jay: "You could have told"
Sara: "I was about to but my landlord called me and he just got off the phone and we reached by the time" I nodded
I could see Keifer from my seat, why does the CEO has to come everywhere, aren't they usually busy, whatever I should just ignore him.
After sometime I heard throat clearing sound, it was keifer I ignored and went back to looking through the window that's when David started,
David: "Can we have breakfast on the way?"
Jay: "Don't you think we will get late "
David:" No, we still have time plus I am hungry, if you guys don't mind we can get something"
before I could say something Sara replied,
"Yeah, sure"
then we stopped at a cafe, all of us got down and went in and settled.
David: "Guys place your order" David and Sara did
Jay:" I dont want anything, I am not in the mood"
Keifer: "Maybe you can have chocolate latte, your favourite" he said and placed an order, I got angry the way he was acting as if nothing has happened between us, like he knew me.
Jay: "NO, cancel that I will have the lemon tea, and for your information Mr Watson, it is not my favourite anymore, it has changed and everything has changed, so act like it hasn't" I said rudely and see his face change but he deserved it and I could feel the tension between the all of us,
David tried to lighten mood by speaking and Sara joined him but I was quiet and so was he, our orders finally arrived, We had them and left for the sight seeing.
We reached the sight, I realized the base work was going on, We were going around the place and David and the engineer was explaining it, both Sara and I was taking notes of it.
I stopped at a place to examine something, while they went ahead, I finished and was about to move ahead I noticed Sara was about to fall but David caught her quickly and they were having a moment and I did not want to disturb them, Maybe I was rooting for them because I have see both of them steal glances at each other, I smiled and moved away and went to other side.
I noticed they were moving the heavy materials around here with labour men and vehicle towards up.
I moved a little forward, in order avoid any accidents,'
I noticed Keifer was talking on the phone with someone, I was about to ignore and move, but that is when I noticed The labour slipped and dropped the heavy material from above and Keifer was directly in the was where it was about to fall and he is unaware, I panicked and shouted his name.
"KEIFER"
