Jay POV:
It was the day of the event, Sara stayed back in my apartment because we had to go to the event together. We woke up late because the event was only in the evening, but I have a strange feeling something is going to happen in this event, but I ignore it and make food for us, after having food and doing some chores, We both go and start getting ready.
After getting ready we both go the event, we are seated in the place and Sara starts talking.
Sara: " Are you excited?"
Jay: "Do you want me to be honest or just go along with you"
She rolled her eyes and said, " Go along with me"
Jay: "I am really excited" I said in a fake tone
Sara: " You are such a buzzkill you know"
I just laughed at her.
Keifer's POV:
We got ready and left for the event, David came along with me,
David: "please start socialising with the people"
Keifer: "I will try"
David: " I do not want you to try, I want you to network with people, I cannot handle another headline saying, cold and rude CEO"
Keifer: " Okay"
The event started and it was boring but I had to socialise because I cannot keep giving anymore headaches to david. In the middle I got tired, So I went to David,
Keifer: " I will use the restroom and be back"
David: " Fine but just come fast"
David's POV:
I was settled in the seats and the award ceremony started and as usual Keifer wasn't interested and went to restroom in the middle but it is fine as long as he returns usually Business men awards are given at last, so that won't be problem and I was talking with colleagues and other businessmen and the awarding was going on and the announced
" BEST ARCHITECT OF THE YEAR" - goes to Ashtine from AA Ltd. And everyone were clapping my hands and I was too but everything stopped when I saw the person , It was Jay Jay
But why did they call her by different name and is it really Jay Jay or someone and I confirmed seeing the big Led screen it was Jay Jay, I couldn't forget her face after seeing her pictures daily in Keifer's room.
By why does she have a different name?
Should I tell Keifer about this?
But I cannot tell him right now because he will leave immediately and run to her and he still has an award to receive. So it is better if I don't say anything.
The award ceremony was coming towards it's end, So I called Keifer and he came after few minutes and settled beside, I felt a little uneasy keeping the secret from him, but I had to.
They announced the next award, " Business Brilliance" the one we were nominated for
The Business Brilliance Award goes to MARK KEIFER WATSON JJ Ltd.
and everyone gave a standing ovation and clapped their hands and I was super proud of him because he did this all by himself even when he was broken.
He went up and received the award and gave a speech and returned.
JAY's POV
I was surprised that I won, I went and received the award and gave a thank you speech and came back to my seat and I insisted Sara that we leave but she wanted to stay because there is after party after the awards and she forced me to stay with and I was in my phone just scrolling while the ceremony went on.
It almost reached it's end and it was the last nomination and I was still on my phone and my heart stopped when I heard his name echo through the hall, " MARK KEIFER WATSON, JJ Ltd"
I immediately looked up to see him going up to receive his awards and I was struck because I was seeing him after 8 years.
Keifer: " Thank you to the panel for the award"
I heard his voice after that one phone, eight years ago, the one phone call that changed my life totally and left me broken and tears started pouring after, I hated that he still had effect on me. While he is happily living his life, I have to leave this place immediately, I stood from seat and Sara noticed and was about to ask question but stopped when she saw me crying.
Sara: " what happened Ash?" She asked in a panic filled voice.
Jay: " We have to leave right now" I said wiping my tears but it was of no use because it kept falling.
