Chapter 31 - 31 MUKOTON

Maki's POV

Wow… this feeling is different.

I feel like years of solitude and being a hikikomori have finally unrestrained my body. Just look at those clouds—roaming freely, unbothered by anything. They follow a simple course, a simple cycle.

This silence… this peace… this place reminds me of home.

No wonder they called it me a Piscator back then.

What should I do now…?

I almost forgot I'm in an examination. This isn't good—I'm acting like some kind of scatterbrained idiot.

Now.

Now I need to focus on the task.

I closed my eyes and tried to remember what that brown-haired lady was talking about. To pass the examination, I need at least 300 points. That's the safe line.

But first things first—I need resources.

Well… actually, I don't really need to go around and search for them.

Food?

Fresh water?

Resources?

I already have a red panel that can store things—literally everything except living organisms, of course. Like a downgraded version of The Collector (Taneleer Tivan).

The system can store anything I want. When I was bored, I tested it with everything possible that could be stored in the system pocket. The command is simple: I just need to hold the subject and ask the system to store it.

Maybe that's why she have ordered many things and told me to stored it inside my pocket. Nemuri knew things would end up like this. She bought me a lot of stuff specially for survival theme. Ofcourse i have demonstrated how my magic works and show it to her. So nemurj knows I can stockpile things.

I just wanted to perform a disappearing and summoning trick in front of her… but things got complicated.... when she first discover I could do that...and ...

I don't really want to talk about it.

So—resources? It's all packed.

The only things I need now are shelter and points.

Shelter is easy.

But–

Points… that's the real problem.

I wonder what kinds of monsters they'll use in this test. Maybe those Skywalker-like things? Hybrid creatures? Hollows? Grotesque monsters? Weird humanoid zombies? Dark aliens? Maybe even extraterrestrials.

For monsters like those, size matters. The bigger the stronger ain it ?.

Wait…That sounded weird.

Anyway, I'll figure that out tomorrow. Night is about to descend, so I need to create a shelter first.

I've watched the fragmented videos along with the integration process. When Hashirama uses his wood style, he combines Earth and Water elements to create wood. That never really made sense to me—earth plus water equals wood?

Well, fiction is fiction.

He does some hand signs, some incantations, and tada!—wood magic complete.

But for me, with Hasiramas physique, things are different.

I have limitations and drawbacks, sure—but I also received something in return. I'm not bound by the same rules as the original owners of these skills.

I noticed it before…

That was when I—...I really mess up. Well past is past.and

Nope.ive had Enough of those throwbacks.

( ̄▽ ̄)So where was I—on that's right

Unlike the originals, I have my own limitations—and differences. If Hashirama combines two natures to produce wood, I don't have to. All I need to do is think about how I want it to be and—

Swoosh.

There it is.

But total concentration is required.

Still… watching Hashirama perform hand gestures and incantations looks really cool.

Alright then.

Guess I'll be Groot this time.

I stood up from the crater—and I didn't feel any pain.

…Wait a minute.

I fucking fell, didn't I?

( ^Д^)I looked down and saw a massive crater below me. Yep. I slammed straight into the ground. And yet—I felt nothing from that height.

I didn't expect that, but honestly… what's there to be surprised about? I'm in a fictional world. Compared to guys summoning giant statues, Vikings boosting everything, or someone transforming with a moon blade—this is pretty normal.

Now concentrate.

I need a badass hand sign.

But I also need to be careful. I don't know if hand signs are prohibited or have consequences in this world. Back home, some hands signs are considered gang signs and those sing ls meant affiliation, territory, intimidation, warnings, or outright challenges.

Better play it safe.

Gotta respect other cultures.

So in the end, I decided to clasp my hands together—like a prayer. Just like Hashirama does when he summons his creations.

I don't really need to do this…

But it looks really cool 👌🏻.

I clasped my hands at eye level.

Now… think.

I need a super badass incantation.

Hashirama starts with Mokuton (Wood Style).

Mukoton?

What about Hear my call? Or wood calling....that's so–

Sounds so cringe.

What bout

Arise?

Not really fitting for wood.

( ̄ー ̄)Grow or Extend?

Doesn't sound cool.

What about yelling I AM GROOT?

( ゚ー゚)…Nope. Never.

Well even Poison Ivy? Have her own intro like

"Grow for me, my darlings" or "Nature strikes back"—

Yeah, no. I can't imagine myself calling trees darlings.

( ´;゚;∀;゚;)I shook my head in defeat.

Forget it. I'll stick to what's already given. I'll use Mokuton until I come up with my own name.

Now—what should I create?

A plain house?

A cavern?

…A treehouse?

Oh.

That's actually good.

A treehouse is safer, and I can sleep peacefully at night.

Okay—concentrate.

I closed my eyes and imagined a massive tree. In the middle of it, a wide, single-floor house—something like a Prairie-style home, but entirely made of wood.

Here goes nothing.

I didn't shout.

I didn't scream.

I just muttered it—quietly, only loud enough for myself to hear.

My hands still clasped together, I said:

"MOKUTON: Shù wū."

( ゚ー゚)(Which literally meant a Tree House but sounds cooler.)
