Occupying the velvet sofa in the main living room, Chris sat with both hands resting on his knees. His gaze remained fixed ahead, while a long, heavy sigh escaped his lips. His expression suggested that he had been turning over a complicated matter in his mind for quite some time.
Beside him, his wife, Evelyn, remained calm as she slowly sipped her tea. The porcelain cup released thin trails of steam, maintaining the peaceful atmosphere that had settled over the room.
That tranquility gradually faded when Chris finally turned his attention toward her. The seriousness in his dark eyes immediately caught Evelyn's attention.
"Do you still remember Raymond?" he asked abruptly.
Evelyn's hand stopped just before placing the porcelain cup back onto the table. Her brows drew together as she looked at him.
"Raymond? Which Raymond are you referring to?"
