The arc reactor, once the suit's energy source, slowly dimmed. It detached from the nanotech armor and fell to the ground with a dull clang.
The next moment, Peter rose slowly into the air as an overwhelming surge of solar energy poured endlessly into his body.
[Congratulations, Host! All abilities have been fully awakened!]
Starting from the star-shaped emblem on his chest,a stream of golden energy—brilliant like sunlight—flowed along the patterns of his armor, moving like liquid and wrapping around his entire body.
Even his once–crimson cape was now bathed in radiant golden light, glowing softly as if infused with the power of the sun itself.
The golden radiance fell across Peter's sharply defined face, as though it had been gilded, lending him an awe-inspiring, godlike majesty.
Under the admiring gazes of everyone present—
He looked like a god walking among mortals.
The Golden Superman.
Meanwhile, on a bustling street in New York City—
Tony Stark stared at the Rolls-Royce he had forcibly stopped and walked toward the door, preparing to "rescue" Obadiah Stane from inside.
ROAR!
A non-human howl echoed down the entire street.
The roof of the Rolls-Royce bulged upward—as if something enormous were pushing from within—before shattering completely.
"JARVIS, what's happening?" Tony demanded in shock.
"Sir, just like the creature you encountered earlier, Mr. Stane has injected himself with a special serum."
"He's gone completely insane…?"
Tony never imagined his uncle would go this far.
ROAR!
With another deafening bellow, the car was ripped apart.A terrifying monster emerged, freezing everyone in place.
"Run! The monster is attacking the city again!"
"Why are we always this unlucky?!"
"That's it—I'm moving out of New York. This place is cursed!"
Panicked civilians fled in every direction.
The monster's savage gaze locked onto Tony. For a split second, he couldn't move.
Then it roared and charged.
"Uncle Obadiah—it's me!"
Tony removed his helmet, revealing his face, trying to reach whatever humanity remained.
"Tony…? Is that really you?"
Obadiah's fist halted mid-air, disbelief flashing across his distorted features.
"Heh… if it's you, then even better!"
The hesitation vanished. His fist slammed forward.
BOOM!
Tony was launched hundreds of meters, crashing into a building wall.
"Cough—good thing I anticipated this and upgraded the shock-absorption system."
At least he hadn't ignored armor protection entirely—unlike someone else.
"Since you threw the first punch, don't blame me for hitting back!"
Tony burst from the building and charged toward the yellow-brown monster.
But someone moved faster.
A figure appeared in front of the creature in an instant.Golden beams shot from his eyes, piercing straight through the monster's body.
Instant kill.
"…Did this guy just change skins?" Tony muttered.
Chapter 61: Tenacious Vitality
"He didn't just change appearances," Peter said calmly as he turned back."He changed his armor's energy source entirely."
Tony stared at the golden, star-like power core glowing on Peter's chest, stunned.
"And how did you even shrink that massive artificial sun down to this size?"
The question burned in everyone's mind—if such a thing could replace an arc reactor…
"You looked a little underdressed earlier," Peter added dryly.
"You don't understand," Tony snapped. "I gave him a chance. He was still my uncle."
Whether it was truth or pride, even Tony didn't know.
"And you were just interfering. I could've beaten him myself."
"So don't expect a thank-you—especially after you kidnapped me. Watch it."
His tone shifted sharply.
ROAR!
Behind Peter, the monster stood up again. The gaping hole in its chest was rapidly healing.
It lunged toward Peter—
—and struck nothing.
Peter had vanished.
"How is that possible…? How can he be that fast?!"
Disbelief flickered in Obadiah's monstrous eyes.
"Fine. Killing Tony works too. No one will compete for the company anymore."
Madness returned as he charged Tony instead.
BOOM!
Now fully transformed, Obadiah moved with terrifying speed.Tony didn't even have time to react before a heavy punch smashed into his abdomen.
CLANG!
He slammed into the ground like a meteor, carving a deep crater into the street.
"You told me not to interfere," Peter said casually from above."So don't come begging me later."
"Damn you, Superman… damn monster…"
"You think I'll beg you? Never!"
Tony forced himself upright, rage burning.
The next instant, Obadiah was already airborne again.
A fist the size of a sandbag, combined with gravitational force, came crashing down.
"Come on!" Tony roared."I'll show you that Tony Stark is no easy target!"
Nanoparticles surged across his arm.In under five milliseconds, they formed a human-sized metal shield.
BOOM!
The massive fist smashed into it, releasing a thunderous impact.A shockwave shattered nearby windows.
"I'll prove it right now—my upgraded nanotech armor lets a mortal stand against gods!"
Confidence surged.
The shield dissolved.Nanoparticles reassembled into a razor-sharp blade in Tony's left hand.
He lunged forward.
SHHH—!
The blade screamed through the air, slicing with terrifying speed.
"Gah—!"
Obadiah tried to retreat—but too late.
His massive arm was slashed open, bone exposed.Yellow-brown blood sprayed out, hissing with corrosive force.
The pain only drove him deeper into madness.
