After taking a nice hot shower, I sat on my vanity chair to dry my hair. I wondered how I could initiate this contract with my family. Of course I planned to tell them, I would not be like those other protagonists who kept their space a secret from their loved ones. If you had to guard against family, then you shouldn't be around them.
Once I was done blow drying my hair, I grabbed my tablet and began downloading all sorts of shows and videos. I grabbed my laptop as well and downloaded every type of education videos; from farming to electronics to 'how to repair' videos. Nothing would be useless during this apocalypse.
I decided it was time to enter my space again and inspect all the perks. As I entered, I walked around the spring. I saw a cave near the end of the spring and walked towards it. As I entered, I noticed that the cave was shining. I stared at the cave, I saw it was full of jade, gold, diamonds, rubies, and all sorts of crystals on the cave walls. In the center of the cave there was a golden looking egg. I walked towards it and touched it. When I placed my hands on top of it, something sharp cut my index, middle and ring finger. Blood seeped onto the egg and it started glowing. Then I heard a mechanical voice saying 'Initiating Blood-bonding contract'
Blood-bonding contract?
Wait...Did I just hear a voice? Could this be a legendary system? God, I hoped I did not have a system. Systems required missions, which I did not want to partake in.
While I was distracted thinking about the possibility of a mission, the egg started to crack. That's when I saw it, it was a baby bird. It hatched with feathers? Aren't birds supposed to be born nestlings first? All skin, with no feathers. Looking like a mini plucked chicken? Why did this one have a full set of feathers? I'm no pet expert but I'm pretty sure this is abnormal.
"Are you my mommy?" ask the bird in a childlike voice. It was looking at meme while the words were said in my head. I was quick to put two and two together. It equaled four...or was it Twenty-Two? Where was my mind going again.
"Excuse me, little darling...but who is your mother?" I asked, this felt so surreal. First I got transmigrated, then I got a magical space, then the zombies were coming, and now I got a pet in my space? Talk about being lucky... Well maybe not so lucky since we would be infested with zombies. But you know what, I'll take it. A win is a win.
"You! You're my mommy. Aren't you?" well, okay then. I am it's mother.
"What makes you think I am your mother? Shouldn't I be your master?" I asked. Don't most novels take this route? It's usually a master-servant contract. What is this fledging talking about?
"Master? No, why would I take a master? My bloodline does not serve, it rules" it said. I had a hard time taking it serious when it sounded like a 3 year old child.
"So, do you know anything about what this bonding contract?" I asked again. Honestly, I was not hopeful.
"It's a blood contract. It means that we are loyal to each other. Neither serves the other. We are equals. But your blood woke me, it's now running through my body. I am a part of your soul for eternity." It said as it tilted it's head.
"How do you know this?" I asked again.
"Well, although I've been sleeping for centuries I was born with the intelligence of this sacred place. My clan has been resting here for years. I cannot remember what exactly happened in the past, but I do remember being told all about this space and that my mother would come one day and wake me. Only my destined mother could do it."
'Blood-Bonding contract complete' the mechanical voice said as it echoed throughout the cave.
"Okay, so what is your gender? or name?" I asked.
"I am female, from the Phoenix clan. I have not been given a name yet"
Phoenix clan? Did this bird mean she is a legendary Phoenix bird? This was a major win. I always thought Phoenixes were mythological birds. Who knew that they actually existed.
"Do you need me to name you? Or would you like to name yourself?" I asked. I'm horrible with names.
"Mom, I cannot give myself a name, it has to be you." I heard her say.
"First, let's drop the Mom title. I'm sorry little one, but I cannot be your mom. We are both different species. I am human and you are...a phoenix" I almost said 'animal' but I was pretty sure that would have ticked this little phoenix off. "You can call me sister. We can be siblings. Let's see...a name. Well how about naming you Winter?"
"Winter?" she said. "Yes, I've always loved that name. Winter means cold. You seem hot, let's go with something opposite just to remember" I said.
"Winter... I don't like it" she said in a pouty voice. Dang, now I really had to rack my brain to think of a name suitable for this majestic beast.
"Okay.....Alyanna?" I asked. This name should fit.
"Alyanna? hmm... I like it" she said. "Alyanna... sounds perfect. From now on, my name is Alyanna"
Okay, Alyanna it is.
"Alyanna, I will call you Ally for short. It's suitable for you." I said in a cheeky tone.
"So, do you know anything about this blood contract that I can form with others? So they can enter my space. How long can they enter my space for?" I asked.
She started to look down, as if thinking. "Well, it's a simple blood contract. You will have to ask the space administrator to hand it to you. Who ever you wish to contract with must sign their full name, date of birth and time of birth in blood. This will bind the correct soul to the contract. They are permitted to enter the space without the need of you being physically there with them. You can ask the administrator to either set up a time limit for them or not. You can also decided what areas they can have access to."
"Space administrator? Do you know where I can find this space administrator?"
"Just call upon it. All you have to say is 'admin' or 'system'" Ally said to me.
I see, so it is some sort of system.
"System?" I said in an unsure voice.
"Hello Master, I am Oddy, your one and trusted admin. How may I be of service?"
"Oddy? You have a name?" what a ridiculous question. It literally told me it's name.
"Yes master, I am named Oddy. I am the space administrator of this specific space. Here at your service."
"Oddy, can you tell me more about this space?" I asked. I wanted to be clear.
"Master, this is a magical space that was created for your family blood line. Only the chosen member of the Wolfe clan can open it. Centuries ago, a great clan leader sought the help of a prophet to know what the future would be like. He was then told of the upcoming doom and that only one Wolfe member would live when the world went through it's most drastic change. With this knowledge, the elder clan leaders decided to create this magical space for your chance of survival. Centuries ago, this world had more spiritual essence, which helped with the creation of the space ring. All of this was left by your clan to ensure your survival''
I felt my eyes sting with unshed tears. My ancestors had foreseen the future and wanted to leave me with some sort of assurance. How wonderful it felt to have people who never met me to care for me. I had a great bond with my parents in my past life, however my time spent with them was short. I was involved in a car accident at the age of 17 and could not remember anything prior to waking up in the hospital bed. I was sure that I was loved, and loved them very much. I had gone through all the pictures and videos of my upbringing. I wanted to get my memories back. I always felt like there was a barrier between us after my recovery.
"So, you are an admin system? Am I required to do anything to keep you going?" I asked the most crucial question. Let's be honest, I was going to be too busy surviving. I did not need to complete random mission.
'Host, do not fret. I do not require you to complete any missions. The only thing you need to do to keep this space from shutting down is to gather as many crystals as possible. As you can tell, this cave has all sorts of crystals. This is where the system gets it's power source. Just keep collecting them and everything will be fine.'
And there it was, I knew this was too good to be true. So I needed to collect all sorts of crystals. Diamonds, Rubies, Emeralds, Jades, Topaz and so on.
