Chapter 39 - Norma’s Eye

In the palace, Ateen stood waiting for the women to arrive at the grand hall.

After they had all entered, Ateen tightly shut the hall's gate and began moving along the walls, smashing the lamps one after another until the hall was plunged into complete darkness.

Ateen spoke, saying, "There are filthy creatures among us."

When the women heard this, shock spread across their faces, and murmurs of confusion rose among them.

Ateen stood in the center of the hall, and suddenly raised her voice, shouting: "Norma's Eye!"

The moment Ateen uttered the words "Norma's Eye," the women's eyes glowed with a flash, their gazes transforming into a vision that pierced the darkness, revealing details invisible to the naked eye.

Ateen began to clearly see strange forms standing among the women—creatures that had infiltrated them, disguised in their appearance.

As soon as the hidden enemy was identified, the echoes of battle cries thundered throughout the hall.

The women began confronting the disguised creatures, and the sounds of conflict rose in every direction. The battle was fierce, and nothing remained visible but the gleam in each warrior's eyes as she faced her enemies with courage.

After a brutal fight between the warrior women and the disguised creatures—where Ateen and the women of Estrazon fought valiantly, exposing the infiltrators one by one—a tense silence settled.

Ateen stepped forward toward one of the creatures lying on the ground, severely wounded and weakened under the weight of pain.

She grabbed her firmly and lifted her off the ground, her eyes burning with anger

Ateen asked in a harsh tone, "Why did you take the king's liver? What are you planning?"

The creature drew a faint smile across her face and said in a broken voice, "We have taken your king's life… to restore the life of our king."

Ateen held a hardened gaze and asked in a heavier voice, "And the advisor? Did you abduct him as well?"

The creature laughed through her pain and replied cunningly, "I know nothing about him… but our king will return soon… and he will avenge us."

Ateen could not bear the open defiance. With a swift strike, she severed the creature's neck, and her body fell lifeless to the ground.

After some time had passed, in a deeply moving scene, a grand procession of the Mazi tribe appeared, carrying the coffin of the late king within an ornate wooden casket, heading toward the royal cemetery near the palace—where the tomb of King Bodia the First stood, bearing witness to the glory of the Kingdom of Anomazon.

Upon the coffin's arrival at King Bodia's tomb, everyone gathered in an atmosphere heavy with emotion.

Ateen stood beside Grandmother Asil, the twins Dia and Mori, along with the rest of the Estrazon warrior women, in silence and anticipation. Around them stood Scarface, his uncle, and his brothers, along with a group of men from the Mazi tribe, all awaiting the beginning of the ceremonies. Basil, Hamza, Novich, and Finn were also present to witness the farewell of the late king.

The men of the Mazi tribe placed the coffin in its position, and the funeral rites began. The tribe's men performed a farewell dance accompanied by chants resembling howls, expressing deep sorrow and loss. They moved slowly, their motions filled with grief and loyalty, while their voices echoed throughout the area.

Then came the turn of the Estrazon women, led by the twins. They performed another farewell dance, striking their shields with their weapons in perfect unison, the rhythm synchronized as a final farewell to the king and a declaration of a new oath to protect the kingdom.

Finn remained silent beside Ateen, whose face bore deep sorrow. Basil and Hamza stood watching the dance in silence, out of respect for the king.

In the background, Novich observed the scene quietly, aware that a danger threatened the kingdom.

Through this unified participation between the two tribes, the barriers between them faded, and they stood together in bidding farewell to their king, affirming their determination to protect their kingdom.
