Building political support for exposing Marcus's operation took six days and contacts in territories I didn't know existed.
Kael spent the first three days reaching out to Elders who'd opposed Thomas during his tenure, who'd questioned Council decisions about Omega custody, who'd voted against policies that gave too much power to individual members without oversight.
"I have seven confirmed allies," he said on day four. "Seven Elders who'll publicly support exposure if we can prove institutional involvement beyond Marcus. Seven who'll demand investigation instead of suppression."
"Seven out of how many total Council members?"
"Forty-three active Elders across all territories. Seven willing to support us publicly. Maybe another ten who'll support privately but won't risk their positions. The rest will either deny everything or actively work to suppress exposure."
I looked at the numbers and tried to believe seven was sufficient.
