Chapter 1 - C1

He stood there watching the disolate horizon. Behind him layed a huge rainforest. The trees were obviously tall as various animals made noise to notify anyone of their presence. He had waited but nothing seemed to be coming along. The three year old boy swallowed saliva hard as he tried to see if there was a brighter side to the story. Maybe he it was a surprise. No, it wasn't his birthday or anything in between. And as obvious not at the end of a rain forest. Maybe they were going to be back. The cold breeze swept his silky hair. The shirt he wore was seemingly too light when it came to the breeze hence he began shivering. He hugged himself tight as tears fell uncontrollably. Then he sighted a tree trunk amidst the dark surrounding. He sat at on the it and placed his legs near himself seating in a foetal position.

"Ma!?" A loud voice buttered itself from his weak lungs. It came amidst sobs hence painful and course.

"Pa!?" He called yet again thinking maybe he'd hear him he always heard him. No response came. Darkness wholly covered the world. He was afraid. Maybe of the dark or of being left alone. The wind became colder by the minute. He raised his head only to see a darker shadow as compared to his environment. He let his head dive into his feet in fear as trembling failed to stop.

"Vin!!" A voice came. The more the name was stated the louder it became as echoes followed it. The boys body was there. Shaking. He had sweat all over making him wet and some how disgustingly sticky. The boy kept shaking him while calling the name and soon enough he woke up. He looked at the guy. His eyes were bare. Emotionless. The boy awakening him had similar wear. Similar hairstyle except for the fact that he was older. At fourteen.

"Are you okay?" The voice asked as the person stroke the silky hair on his head gently. The voice...

"Vin?!" He stated as he pushed him off himself and his bed.

"Ouch! Is that what I get for helping?" The guy stated once he stood straight. He turned and looked at the watch on a desk beside his bed.

"Fuck! We are late!" He stated as he rushed out.

"Wait!" The guy stated as he tried following him. Once at the main door he opened it only to find everyone seated on the floor nearly a hundred of them. Not bodies. Smoke structures of various colours just as the black one he saw when he was at the forest. There were three colours. Grey, green and black. His entry made everyone turn their heads to him. Then lights went off. Daytime yet it was dark inside No he was not at home. Who were these people? No what were these things?

"Sorry sir, we'll be back." The guy that woke him up stated as he pulled him. Closing the door.

"Tiw what is going on?" I asked as I looked at the hand of his that held mine. Then the guy turned. It was not Tiw. Not the older me either. The person's body melted as his grip on me tightened. The fear in me had dissapeared, hence I followed the dark shadow blindly. Then my heart beat increased. This was odd.

"It hurts!" It hurts. I stated as fake tears came.

"It should." The thing responded as he stood pushing me to some door. Inside was dark. Just as that day. I sat at the corner and begun sobing. I could smell it. The scent of blood. Fresh blood. The sound of ants and finally I could feel some warm thing flowing to me. Blood. No.

"Ma!?" I screamed as I opened my eyes.

I looked beside me. His slender body was there on the next bed. The others were present. Charlie snored noisily as usual. I pinched myself severally to ensure I was not dreaming. The room was dark. I picked the blanket from my bed and covered myself before walking out, bare foot. My body was gummy from the sweating but walking away from the nightmare was a priority not an option. The most dangerous ones led to strangulation good enough I shouted before the blood turned to acid.

" My nightmares were getting worse." I told myself as I walked slowly to the beach.Once there I sat at some bench and stared at the horizon waiting for the sun to rise. Then I heard footsteps. I dared not turn.

"This isn't a dream. I shouldn't be afraid." I told myself as some hand landed on my shoulder. I hurriedly turned. It was him. Daddy. He then sat beside me.

"Another dream?" He asked as he looked into my eyes.

"No, two." I responded and was silent. The cool breeze came about hence I hugged the blanket and squeezed my entire body on the bench to ensure I covered my whole body. I stared at the vast waters. The moving waves always helped me keep calm.

"I won't be there from tomorrow as you know. This view too." He stated and was silent. We watched the waters for a while before I spoke.

"Why did they leave?" I asked tears already in my eyes. I could not let them drop. No one could see that I was weak.

"It was not their choice. Do you think they wanted you to be raised by a person like me?" He asked sarcastically. I smiled abit.

"No. But they still had their souls flying." He answered himself and gave a slight smile.

"I know all of you have your own pasts. Some bad like yours but I can't help fight them through. It's you who has to find something that keeps you from it. Atleast you have friends." He stated and smiled.

"Cry. You won't be able to coz you have to be strong out there." He had noticed. He offered himself for a hug as I sat up straight and hugged him. The guy that found me. I sobbed silently as tears came. He stroked my hair just like Pa did years ago. The orange sky line was visible when I let go. It was beautiful. This was nearly the thousand time I had seen the sunrise. It would help me for some days but what of now when I'll be far from it? The others begun approaching one by one as they sat to watch the final horizon as a hundred of us. The environment was calm and silent. Then came Tiw.

"Ouch!" A voice came from below at my side.

"You are so tiny Tay. I didn't see you." Tiw stated with a bit of irony as he held his blanket tightly. Seconds later it was up flying as Tiw tried to escape the grasp of his friend. We all watched as we laughed noisily. Daddy looked at everything with a smile. The little kids were now grown up.

"You left me in bed this morning!!" A shout came. This was even more fun.

"Baby.." Daddy stated as he tried to form a cute face.

"I understand." She stated as she sat beside him.

"Clarissa!" She shouted as a girl approached. She was her kitchen helper. She stood in front of us with a camera and clicked some photos. In the end of it all there was a smile on my face.
