When we finally skidded into the center of our temporary camp, the atmosphere was thick with tension.
A makeshift, simple tent had been thrown up in a rush, surrounded by a bustling crowd of worried beastmen.
In this world, birth was a rare miracle...mainly because finding a female was practically an impossible task to begin with.
The whole tribe looked completely on edge.
"Lily!" Luna called out, rushing over to welcome me.
She was wearing her self made thermal jacket, her cheeks flushed pink.
"The deer physician is inside. Donna is giving birth!"
She was practically yelling in pure excitement, but then she leaned closer and whispered something that made my modern sensibilities twitch.
She told me that back in her original camp, whenever a female went into labor, she and her sister were told to hide as far away as possible.
