I wasn't crying anymore, but my eyes were still raw and rimmed with red from the panic about Tigris.
Reaching up, I reached past his imposing aura and firmly pinched both of his cheeks, tugging them slightly.
"I'm a mortal too, you know. Unlike you god of snakes, I'm a social animal. I need a community, Jor. We are staying with the tribe."
For a moment, the fearsome snake deity just stared at me, his cheeks still pinched between my fingers, looking entirely ridiculous compared to his usual terrifying demeanor.
The sheer absurdity of a fragile human female handling a primordial god like a misbehaving pet completely broke his cold facade.
"If my wife says so, let it be," Jor sighed softly, his expression melting into something deeply tender.
He gently pried my hands from his face, and then, leaning down with agonizing slowness, he carefully flicked his tongue to lick the corners of my eyes.
