Toasts flying out of the toaster, coffee being brewed for two people. coffee poured in two cups with toast and fried eggs on top on the kitchen table. A girl with black hair almost till her mid back, sitting on the chair waiting for someone and looking the clock she got annoyed and screamed angrily on the top of her lungs..
"RENNNNNNNN"
On the 2nd floor a boy sleeping on his bed with one leg out the blanket woke up in a shock and fell on the floor.
~5 minutes later~
He's done freshening up and come sits at the table. And instantly starts nagging the girl which is his older sister for not letting his sleep on holidays.
Both siblings finish up their breakfast and proceeded to go to their grandpas photo and wish him good morning.
"Both Ren and Mellow's grandpa Renji who adopted them when they were kids and from then on he's been their only family. But as tragedy struck 1 year ago from Renji met his demise, he had a severe organ failure."
Both sibling who lived in the countryside of Miyama, japan with their grandpa planned to move out to Tokyo city for better future options as Ren who graduated high school and needed a university to attend and Mellow on the side being a university student who is soon to scout for jobs.
For a few days they are transporting home stuff from this old house to the city apartment they got for cheap, mostly everything was moved out except for Renji's room which was still maintained and felt like as if someone still lives there, but now its time move them and sell useless stuff.
~2-3 hours into moving~
Its soon to be evening and everything is moved out, what only remains is the rug under the bed.
Ren picks it up and notices a small out of place floorboard he calls out for Mellow and asks her about it but she too is clueless, Ren takes the piece out and is surprised to find a small storage with a few diaries in it.
They were exited and emotional to find their grandpas memories, Ren picks the diary which stood out among all and Mellow picked out the other one.
They both go their house garden and sat there and started reading the diaries.
~An hour passed~
Both are emotional as the diary contained their childhood silly incidents and talk and Renji's daily life, Mellow closed the diary and Ren opened the diary that he picked.
The diary started with" Ren and Mellow if you are reading this then I am dead or maybe away from you"
Their expression kinda dulled but instantly were hooked when they noticed this diary had the record of the day of them being adopted.
It was a rainy day Renji who was a middle aged man at that time was returning home from work and decided to take a a walk around by the shrine as he had to go meet a friend.
While crossing by the shrine he herd loud cries of a baby he tried to ignore it but strangely couldn't so he went to the sound and found two smalls children under the shrine roof in a basket, one boy hardly more than a year and a girl maybe 2 or 3 years old. The boy was crying out loud, he went in and picked them us and soon enough the boy calmed down. Renji took both of them to the nearby police station and left them there for the police to find their parents and went home.
Through out the night he felt like he had some kind of connection to the kids and felt as if he did wrong leaving them alone. Next Morning the police man called in to tell Renji that those kids seems to not from anyone around here and called Renji to come by soon as the kids keep crying.
Renji went and when he picked the kids up they stopped crying and he felt like he needs to protect them and decides tot adopt them.
Ren and Mellow were laughing and emotional over this story and while reading through Ren noticed something written about a pendent which was on baby Ren that day and something about it being like causing Ren to cry when near it and Renji hid it under the willow tree in their garden.
Ren immediately went and brought a shovel and dug up under the tree and after few minutes of digging around he found a metal box, Both Mellow and Ren with their gazes on the box, and Ren opened the box and found a pendent inside it wrapped in some old paper with strange patterns.
Renji held the pendent and opened it and it had a faint photo of two people and some symbol on it...
