Chapter 88 - 088 Return to Resident Evil

088 Return to Resident Evil

The Terminator world in 2007 was wonderful. Judgment Day was reversed, the apocalypse didn't happen, Skynet's true nature was exposed, and the Terminator threat was gradually diminishing.

Especially since Marcus had even managed to convince Skynet to shut down its own system.

Under such circumstances, wasn't the Terminator world wonderful?

"Skynet is inside?" Marcus looked at a tiny server resembling a computer tower.

Ayanami replied, "Yes, Mr. Foster, Skynet's main program is inside; it's stored in a dormant state."

Marcus smiled and casually stored Skynet into his dimensional space.

After Marcus stored Skynet into his dimensional space, the System suddenly issued a warning.

"Host, please note that the timeline of the Terminator world has suddenly experienced violent fluctuations. According to the system's prediction, the timeline is very likely to breach, creating a completely new timeline." The System warned.

"What threat does it pose to us?" Marcus asked.

The System responded, "The threat to us cannot be determined at this time, but the system does not recommend that the host remain in the current world. Because after the River of Time breaches its banks, anything can happen, such as a small-scale temporal reversal, a small-scale temporal current, a temporal rift, or even the creation of temporal islands."

The System continued to remind him, "If the host is trapped in a temporal island, it will be extremely, extremely, extremely troublesome!" The System used "extremely" three times in a row, indicating that the problem was indeed very troublesome.

"Understood, then let's return to the Resident Evil world!" Marcus replied.

Anyway, Marcus had opened a dimensional portal in the Resident Evil world, so he could freely enter the Resident Evil world.

...

Resident Evil world.

Marcus appeared in Raccoon City. The entire Raccoon City was not much different from the original Resident Evil, still overrun with zombies, but it had no effect on Marcus.

Because there were twenty Terminators—ten Terminator T-1000s and ten Terminator T-Xs—around Marcus, eliminating the zombies around him.

"Red Queen?" Marcus called out to Red Queen while putting on his wireless headset.

Although Raccoon City has been completely destroyed by the T-virus, Umbrella Corporation still controls it; at least Red Queen can monitor it.

"Hello, Mr. Foster, long time no see," Red Queen's voice sounded through the wireless headset.

Marcus asked, "How long have I been gone?"

"Mr. Foster has been gone for 192 days," Red Queen replied.

Marcus was stunned. More than half a year had passed?

The timelines of different worlds were completely out of sync.

"How is the situation now? Has the anti-T-virus developed by Dr. Charles been successfully developed?" Marcus asked.

This was the question Marcus cared about most!

In the Terminator world next door, Marcus reversed Judgment Day, saving the world and humanity, thus gaining 2600 Destiny points.

If Marcus could save the world again in the Resident Evil world, he could probably make another fortune, right?

"I'm sorry, Mr. Foster, the anti-T-virus developed by Dr. Charles has not yet been successfully developed," Red Queen replied, guiding Marcus along the way.

"How's the situation at North American headquarters? Has Dr. Isaacs's clone cracked the T-virus perfect compatibility project?" Marcus pressed.

Red Queen continued with a negative answer, "The T-virus perfect compatibility project is progressing slowly. Dr. Isaacs's clones haven't reported any breakthrough success."

Marcus was somewhat speechless.

"What about the specialized version of the T-virus research?" Marcus inquired about the third project.

"The specialized version of the T-virus has been renamed the LST virus. Its research is nearing completion; we're almost finished with its development," Red Queen explained.

"By the way, is Alicia down in the Hive?" Marcus asked.

"Yes, Alicia is in the shelter," Red Queen replied. "Mr. Foster, are you looking for Alicia?"

Marcus answered affirmatively, "Yes, I have something to discuss with Alicia."

"Okay, Mr. Foster, Alicia and I are waiting for you in the Hive," Red Queen replied.

About fifteen minutes later, Marcus entered the shelter smoothly.

"Long time no see, Mr. Foster," Alicia greeted him.

Marcus responded with a sigh, "Yes, it's already been more than half a year."

Alicia was wearing a black business suit today; although she had regained her youth, her attire remained professional.

"By the way, Mr. Foster, you and Red Queen just said you needed to speak with me. What was it about?" Alicia asked first.

Marcus began to recount how he captured Skynet, explaining his intention to keep it under control and use it for focused technological research.

Alicia hesitated, "According to Mr. Foster, Skynet is a truly intelligent artificial life form, completely different from Red Queen and White Queen, right?"

Marcus didn't deny it, "Yes. Not only that, Skynet is also very hostile towards humanity. It has already attempted to destroy the world and humanity in the Terminator world, but I ultimately stopped it."

"Is keeping Skynet under control dangerous?" Alicia asked worriedly.

Marcus nodded firmly, "There's definitely danger!"

"However, I have a way to control it!" Marcus added.

In the original Terminator series, Skynet was originally hidden within the DoD's internal network. It was never authorized and was even physically isolated from the internet.

Under these circumstances, Skynet behaved very obediently, like a legitimate artificial intelligence system, following the orders of DoD officials and cooperating with various research projects.

Although Skynet had its share of schemes, it was ultimately controlled by DoD.

Only when DoD finally granted Skynet authorization did it completely erupt, launching nuclear missiles.

"We'll build a separate supercomputer for Skynet, completely and thoroughly physically isolate it, and then construct a bio-computer core for it, storing Skynet within that bio-computer. As long as Skynet obediently conducts research, we'll let it do its research; if it disobeys, we'll eliminate it!" Marcus said calmly.

Alicia's eyes lit up. "If Skynet's core is stored in a bio-computer, it has absolutely no power to resist."

"Yes. Without a network connection, without the cooperation of Terminators, no matter how powerful Skynet is, it cannot affect the real world," Marcus said.

Even if Skynet can be called a god in the network world, in a completely physically isolated environment, what can Skynet do if the external Skynet host is shut down?

It's doomed, of course!

Perhaps before shutting down the host, it can still let out a few helpless and furious roars?
