Chapter 1 - first chapter

POV ???

It is the year 1730AD of our lord, if I can still claim him as my lord in my current cursed form that is.

Its been some time since I've undergone the transition from human into vampire and ever since my recent stay of 20 years with the ruling coven of our kind I've been roaming the americas, trying to hone my craft.

Although they wielded a impressive number of texts to learn from there study into the human body was lacking, and if I'm to continue my desire to help those in need then my search for knowledge must continue.

I truly enjoyed my time among the volturi, there refined manor and way of life was a big change from the previous vampires I've encountered who use places like sewers and decrepit houses for homes, not to mention there lack of intellect, even when given the chance to live eternally they use most of there time indulging in there desires.

But the constant attempts to convert me over to there way of feeding from humans was grinding away at my resolve to stay, they didn't truly mind my diet, most found it intriguing while others were just confused as to why, but the curiosity eventually turned into humour at seeing how long I could resist while they indulged in front of me.

But I digress, the journal entry of today isn't about me or my encounters with others of my changed race. No, today's entry is about Orion, named after the stars he fell from.

It was a dark night when I saw one of the very stars shooting through the sky, only instead of passing by it shot straight downwards, landing with a terrible rumble I few hills away.

Traversing the distance between us was a matter of moments for a creature of my kind, but upon coming to the edge of the deep crater what I found was not At all what I expected, for laying naked on there back was a man who I'd later come to know wasn't a man at all, but more akin to an angel or Demi-god of some kind.

POV Orion

It was a weird experience waking for what felt like the first time, for surely that is what happened, I have no recollection of ever waking before that moment in the crater.

Carlisle wouldn't have an explanation for me either, even though he was the one who found me he himself could only explain that it appeared as if I fell from the heavens themselves.

His belief that I was some type of divine being only grew stronger once we discovered my various abilities, from flight at mind boggling speeds to strength that far outstrips that of what I later learned were vampires.

I owe a lot to Carlisle for those early days, for I was little more than a extremely powerful child, I knew not how to speak or communicate, nor the basic needs to survive.

I'm sure I would have found my footing eventually, there is literally nothing in the world that can harm me, and there are plenty of humans I would have been able to copy for basic tasks like eating.

But Carlisle did more than teach me how to eat, he also taught me how to be kind, how to respect others and treat them how I inturn would like to be treated.

And these are life lessons I would have struggled to pick up from the common man.

So as I float down towards a burning settlement I can't help and think on how he would react if he knew what I was about to do.

You see there's a group of four vampires below me who have just spent the night killing an untold number of innocents,

And for a species that only need to drain a single human around twice a month it was beyond excessive.

I just hope Carlisle will forgive me, for I don't think I will be able to give these four a quick death.
