Chapter 89 - 089 How Can T-virus Be Perfectly Adapted?

089 How Can T-virus Be Perfectly Adapted?

Marcus holds a very high position in the Resident Evil world, almost at the very top of the pyramid. Therefore, he plans to place Skynet there.

What if Skynet goes out of control in the Resident Evil world?

Sorry!

According to Marcus's plan, Skynet cannot go out of control!

"Red Queen, has Section B been completely cleared out?" Marcus asked.

Red Queen replied, "Section B has been cleared out and sealed off."

Section B was originally a secret cold storage warehouse for the Lickers, located in a corner of the Hive. Now that the Hive has been cleaned up, Section B is temporarily unused.

"Convert Section B into Skynet's mainframe room, creating a completely physically isolated environment," Marcus ordered.

"Okay," Red Queen replied.

"By the way, is it okay to separate Section B's permissions and management system from the Hive's main system?" Marcus asked.

Red Queen responded, "Sorry, this requires Alicia's authorization."

Alicia agreed, "No problem, I'll authorize Mr. Foster's orders."

"Okay, Mr. Foster, I will isolate Section B from the Hive. Both the control system and the permissions will be completely independent of the Hive," Red Queen explained.

Marcus also explained, "This operation is to prevent Dr. Isaacs's true form from awakening and releasing Skynet, thus turning your world into a Terminator world as well."

Alicia said with some concern, "Compared to Skynet and the Terminators, I think the T-virus is easier to deal with."

Marcus complained, "If I had to make a comparison, I think the T-virus is also difficult to deal with. Whether it's the combination of Skynet and the Terminators, or the T-virus, neither is a good thing."

"That seems to be true," Alicia replied helplessly.

Time passed quickly, day by day.

Marcus remained in the Resident Evil world, and he discovered a new way to use his Destiny points: to accelerate research progress.

For example, Marcus participated in the T-virus perfect compatibility project led by the cloned Dr. Isaacs. When the cloned Dr. Isaacs encountered difficulties, Marcus would try to solve the problem using Destiny points.

However, directly using Destiny points to solve the T-virus perfect compatibility problem would require too many Destiny points, which Marcus would never agree to.

But when solving smaller problems, such as when the cloned Dr. Isaacs raised the issue that the T-virus perfectly suited Alice's genes but not the genes of Alice's clones, what caused this?

From Marcus's perspective, this question is quite puzzling!

Because Marcus knows very well that Alice is also a genetic clone of Alicia, created through cloning. Why can't a clone inherit the perfect compatibility for the T-virus?

This question is not explained in the original Resident Evil storyline.

Therefore, throughout the entire Resident Evil universe, apart from Alice, neither Alicia nor Alice's clones have a perfect compatibility for the T-virus.

What is the reason for this?

Marcus spent 20 Destiny points to forcibly reverse causality through the System and obtain the answer!

According to the System, the original version of the T-virus had the function of developing psychic power. This function was reciprocal, meaning that the carrier of the T-virus must possess strong psychic power and a firm will to subdue the T-virus and make it perfectly compatible.

"By the way, host, the system must remind you to pay attention to the nature of the T-virus. It was developed by Dr. Marcus for his daughter Alicia, and its initial purpose was to cure Alicia's progeria," the System prompted.

Marcus was stunned for a moment. "You mean the T-virus also has a genetic compatibility issue?"

"Of course!" the System replied affirmatively. "The T-virus inevitably has a genetic compatibility issue. The current T-virus is developed based on Alicia's genes. Unless it's operated like the Main God System, deleting the effect of activating psychic power and only retaining the physical enhancement effect, genetic compatibility is necessary."

"I see!" Marcus indicated that he understood.

In the original Resident Evil storyline, Alice's character was resolute, especially as she grew step by step fighting zombies, which activated her psychic power.

"Dr. Isaacs, do you know the origin of the T-virus?" Marcus reminded the cloned Dr. Isaacs.

In reality, the T-virus is now in a perfect state; what's imperfect is the T-virus's host. Whether it's genetic compatibility, or psychic and personality issues, it's all a problem with the host.

Even Alice's clones, because they lack Alice's original experiences and have different personalities, naturally cannot perfectly adapt to the T-virus.

The cloned Dr. Isaacs paused for a moment. Although he was a clone, he had been programmed with complete scientific knowledge and memories, as well as corresponding human emotions. In terms of scientific research, he was almost indistinguishable from the original Dr. Isaacs.

"I know the origin of the T-virus. It was a special treatment developed by the company's founder, Dr. Marcus, to combat progeria for his daughter," the cloned Dr. Isaacs explained.

Marcus reminded him, "So, the original purpose of the T-virus was to combat Dr. Marcus's daughter's progeria. Do you think Dr. Marcus made any special adjustments to his daughter's genes when he was researching the T-virus?"

The cloned Dr. Isaacs was stunned. He fell into deep thought. After a full five minutes, he suddenly clapped his hands. "I see, I see! I should have thought of that sooner! Really, I should have thought of that sooner! Drugs that target genes, like the T-virus, will definitely be fine-tuned due to individual genetic differences."

The cloned Dr. Isaacs looked at Marcus. "Thank you, Mr. Foster. If you hadn't reminded me, I'm afraid I would have failed many more times!"

Marcus smiled and waved his hand. "Alright, Dr. Isaacs, if you want to thank me, I'll give you a strand of my hair later. After you extract and analyze the genes, you can fine-tune the T-virus through my genes. I also want to try the T-virus!"

The cloned Dr. Isaacs's clearance was only Level 5. He was just a clone of Dr. Isaacs. Faced with Marcus's suggestion, the cloned Dr. Isaacs refused without hesitation.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Foster, I wouldn't dare do such a thing," the cloned Dr. Isaacs responded.

Dr. Isaacs continued, "Mr. Foster, I must remind you—even if we find the problem—that the T-virus requires genetic fine-tuning for different individuals—we haven't conducted any experiments and can't determine the T-virus's compatibility at all."

"Please give me a little more time, Mr. Foster. I will definitely address the issue of perfect T-virus compatibility as soon as possible. Once the problem is solved, I will create a T-virus suitable for you," Dr. Isaacs explained.

Marcus had already obtained the answer through the System; he naturally knew about the T-virus's situation. Besides, even if an accident occurred, the System could reverse causality through Destiny points!

If he waited for the cloned Dr. Isaacs to experiment slowly, how long would that take?

"Alright, Dr. Isaacs, that's enough. Execute my orders immediately!" Just like in the original story, Marcus emphasized again, "These are orders!"

The cloned Dr. Isaacs couldn't refuse and could only agree, "Okay!"
