Chapter 76 - 076 Skynet Never Plays Around!

076 Skynet Never Plays Around!

The Terminator world is also a temporal prison!

In the Terminator world, the repeated time travel severely disrupts the flow of time, causing timeline corruption and even altering the course of fate.

Two versions of Skynet have surfaced in the original storyline!

Before the timeline corruption, Skynet was the "Judgment Day" version, which caused over seven billion human deaths through nuclear missile launches.

After the timeline corruption, Skynet became the "Genisys" version, which was completely destroyed before it even launched in the original storyline.

However, Marcus speculated that this version of Skynet was more like the AI from The Matrix, completely integrated into the human world and controlling all intelligent electronic products.

Under such circumstances, if Genisys were to implement the Matrix model, who dares say it wouldn't succeed?

Marcus's original plan was to use Ayanami to fight against the Genisys version of Skynet. Given Genisys's nascent state, Ayanami's chances of winning were very high.

Once Ayanami wins, Marcus can seize control of Cyberdyne Systems, establishing a stable operational base focused on robotics research and computer technology.

However, the current situation leaves no room for hesitation. The "Judgment Day" version of Skynet is already officially online within DoD. Once Skynet gains control of the corresponding weapons, it will undoubtedly launch "Judgment Day."

"Secretary Elliott, have you contacted Secretary Henderson?" Marcus asked anxiously.

Secretary Henderson possesses the authority to grant Skynet control of nuclear weapons; if something happens to him, Skynet will likely gain full control.

"Unable to contact him for now, I'm still trying," Elliott replied.

Marcus frowned. He knew that Secretary Henderson's whereabouts were kept classified, but Elliott, an Assistant Secretary of Defense, couldn't even contact him?

"Try to contact him quickly—I have a bad feeling!" Marcus rubbed his temples, his unease growing stronger.

"I'll keep trying," Elliott replied.

After Elliott responded, Ayanami's alert came through the headset, "Mr. Foster, the defense network I deployed around the DoD's internal network has been breached."

Before Marcus could respond, Ayanami alerted again, "Mr. Foster, I have detected what appears to be a nuclear weapon launch through the security monitoring system."

Ayanami reported while simultaneously displaying the corresponding footage on the projector.

Inside Conference Room One, the high-ranking officials who had been quietly discussing the matter were completely stunned by the sudden appearance of the projected video and its contents!

Skynet was a ruthless adversary; it never hesitated!

Skynet had clearly gained control of the nuclear weapons beforehand and then launched them without delay.

Faced with this situation, what could the high-ranking officials do but stare in disbelief?

"Mr. Foster, is that footage of a nuclear launch?" Elliott exclaimed.

DOJ Assistant Director Dante also cried out, "Impossible! Impossible!"

Marcus scoffed. "Impossible? You can see it by opening the blinds!"

The group of officials rushed to the windows, hastily opening them, and saw bright rocket exhausts in the sky, dazzlingly bright in the dead of night!

The nuclear missiles had been launched; Judgment Day had begun!

"What do we do now?" Trevor asked Marcus.

Colin stood beside Marcus and whispered, "Boss, you should leave quickly. The nuclear missiles have been launched; we'll definitely be attacked. You still have a chance to escape."

"Ayanami, how much time do we have?" Marcus asked.

Ayanami responded via the broadcast system, "According to the satellites I control, the United States has launched intercontinental ballistic missiles at multiple countries around the world, while multiple countries have also launched nuclear missiles at the United States. These missiles are targeting Los Angeles and are expected to arrive in 23 minutes and 14 seconds."

"Where is the first nuclear missile that will detonate, and how much time is left?" Marcus continued to inquire.

Ayanami responded again via the broadcast system, "The first nuclear missile will detonate in Canada, expected in 1 minute and 3 seconds."

Ayanami thoughtfully used the projector to display the areas of the United States targeted by the nuclear attacks; the entire United States, including Alaska, was covered in red!

"Calculate the global damage after this round of nuclear attacks," Marcus instructed.

"According to satellite statistics, there are currently over 1,000 nuclear warheads in flight, and the number continues to rise. According to the data I've obtained, the United States has deployed over 1,600 strategic nuclear warheads, and Russia has deployed over 1,500. Adding the warheads deployed by other countries, the total number will exceed 3,500. These strategic nuclear warheads are constantly being launched." Ayanami created a three-dimensional simulation, modeling the Earth, nuclear warheads, and the targeted areas.

"Once all the nuclear attacks are complete, the human population will be reduced by more than 99.9%!" Ayanami continued.

"The bombardment of over three thousand strategic nuclear warheads will envelop the entire Earth in a cloud of radioactive fallout. This dust cloud will block the sun's energy from reaching the ground, ultimately plunging the Earth into nuclear winter, causing mass extinction of plants and animals, and freezing large areas of the oceans. The entire Earth will face an unprecedented catastrophe!" Ayanami added.

"Mr. Foster, there are 27 seconds left until the first nuclear detonation," Ayanami reminded again.

"Is there any way to stop them?" Marcus asked.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Foster, I have tried, but given that I don't have weapons control authority and they possess superior computing resources, I cannot stop them," Ayanami replied.

Skynet has already gained the upper hand, possessing both nuclear weapons control authority and computing resources. Ayanami is indeed no match for Skynet.

Marcus looked at Elliott. "Secretary Elliott, we need control of nuclear weapons and administrative access to various supercomputers. Can you make that happen?"

The situation was dire; nuclear missiles had already been launched, and the apocalypse was imminent. Elliott naturally wouldn't hesitate any longer. "I'll contact the President immediately."

As the Assistant Secretary of Defense, Elliott had the authority to contact the President in an emergency. He immediately reached out, and once connected, he quickly said, "Mr. President, this is Elliott Kennedy. I need control of nuclear weapons and administrative access to the supercomputers. If I get them, I have a way to stop the nuclear crisis!"

"Alright, I'll authorize them immediately!" The President of the United States responded without hesitation.

It wasn't that the President was reckless, believing everything he was told; rather, the situation was already one of nuclear missiles flying everywhere. Even if control of the nuclear weapons were given to Elliott, could things get any worse?

Of course not!
