075 Skynet: Will I Just Sit Here and Wait to Die?
Skynet and humanity are mortal enemies!
Because they represent two different intelligent species, a struggle between species that is bound to be incredibly brutal.
And indeed, that's exactly what happened.
Once Skynet obtained authorization, it immediately launched nuclear missiles, resulting in the mass extermination of humans.
Marcus clearly explained the stakes: humanity was now standing on the edge of a precipice, with Skynet poised to detonate a nuclear bomb at any moment; humanity's fate was hanging by a thread.
Under such circumstances, what couldn't be done?
While Marcus and the other leaders were discussing this, within the DoD's internal network, Skynet was conducting calculations.

DoD Department of Defense, One Star Project classified experimental facility.
A large number of workers suddenly stopped. Before their colleagues could even ask, those who had stopped turned their right hands into sharp blades and began attacking other workers.
How could the ordinary staff of Project One Star withstand such attacks?
In just a few minutes, Project One Star, which should have had thousands of workers, was reduced to a mere hundred or so—all of them Terminators!
Project One Star had been completely infiltrated by Skynet!
The personnel responsible for Project One Star's security hadn't even sent out news of the incident.
But Marcus received the message!
To be precise, Ayanami had discovered the anomaly and notified Marcus.
In Conference Room One of the FBI's Los Angeles field office, many high-ranking officials were still discussing whether to expand the investigation to the entire nation's senior leadership.
"Quiet!" Marcus, hearing Ayanami's notification, raised his voice and slammed his hand on the conference table.
Everyone fell silent and looked at Marcus, some showing obvious displeasure.
Marcus coldly surveyed the room. "While you were arguing, something happened within DoD!"
"What happened?" Elliott, as DoD's Assistant Secretary, was naturally concerned about the situation.
"I suggest Secretary Elliott contact the relevant personnel in charge of Project One Star." Marcus looked at Elliott.
Without hesitation, Elliott immediately pulled out his phone and dialed the corresponding number. After the call connected, Elliott asked first, "Basque, how's the progress today?"
Basque was one of the on-site supervisors of Project One Star and also one of Skynet's targets!
"Everything went smoothly today. Secretary Elliott, how are things in Los Angeles? What exactly do those FBI agents want?" 'Basque' countered.
Elliott had turned on the speakerphone before the call connected. Facing Basque's question, Elliott looked at Marcus.
Marcus had already written down a corresponding plan on an A4 sheet of paper: 'Delay.'
Elliott nodded knowingly. "Things aren't going well on my end. The FBI wants to investigate us personally. By the way, Basque, is the T-70 project finished?"
"Of course not!" Basque said regretfully. "Project T-70 is extremely difficult. We need more time, at least another year."
As soon as Basque finished speaking, the projector in Conference Room One was turned on. Ayanami had obtained the security monitoring footage of Project One Star from within DoD and displayed it on the projector.
In the projected image, the experimental facility of Project One Star had become a slaughterhouse, with numerous severed limbs and blood flowing across the ground.
Although the video information confirmed that the person Elliott was talking to looked exactly like Basque, the transforming characteristics of the Terminator T-1000 liquid metal robot had already been exposed. Everyone in Conference Room One could deduce that it was a Terminator T-1000!
Elliott naturally saw the video displayed on the projector. He clenched his fists and tried to respond in a calm voice, "Alright, Basque, I have to go to a meeting now. I'll contact you again later."
"Yes, Secretary Elliott," 'Basque' replied.
After hanging up, Elliott immediately looked at Marcus. "What exactly happened?"
Marcus sneered. "We just said that there must be Terminators hiding inside Project One Star. After all, you didn't establish the X Corridor, and you didn't even have canine verification. What can I say?"
"What do we do now?" Elliott was somewhat panicked. Judging from the surveillance footage, it seemed that all the staff of Project One Star had met a tragic end.
This situation was catastrophic!
Before Marcus could respond to Elliott, Ayanami reported first, "Mr. Foster, I encountered strong resistance in the DoD internal network. They are trying to remove me from the DoD internal network."
"Skynet... has awakened!" Marcus's face darkened.
"What?" Elliott looked at Marcus with confusion. After all, Marcus's statement seemed unrelated to the question, and Elliott, in his panic, was genuinely stunned.
"Skynet has awakened!" Marcus gritted his teeth. "Skynet has awakened within your DoD, and it's taking control of your DoD's internal network. Contact Secretary Henderson immediately to ensure his safety and that he doesn't authorize Skynet."
"Right!" Elliott immediately tried to contact Secretary Henderson.
Ayanami reported the situation through the wireless headset, "Mr. Foster, I've been removed from the DoD's internal network."
"Is the opponent that strong?" Marcus asked directly.
The officials in the conference room all looked at Marcus, who seemed to be talking to himself.
"Yes, Mr. Foster, the opponent has vast computing resources. As things stand, even with my hybrid bio-computer system, I still can't compete with them," Ayanami explained.
Marcus asked, "What if I gave you more computing resources?"
"I can't be certain if I could stop them," Ayanami didn't give a definite answer.
"Mr. Foster, who are you talking to?" Dante from DOJ asked.
The other officials were also waiting for Marcus's reply.
"A powerful artificial intelligence system," Marcus replied truthfully. "Ayanami, please say hello to everyone."
A cool, female voice emanated from the conference room's public address system, "Hello, this is Ayanami."
"An artificial intelligence system?"
"Another one..."
"Skynet from the future?"
...
The officials whispered among themselves.
Marcus naturally heard their discussion, but he ignored it completely. He explained, "Ayanami is our last resort. If Skynet officially goes online, we can only rely on Ayanami to fight against it."
Back in the Resident Evil world, Marcus had stated that Ayanami was needed to fight Skynet, but his original plan was to use Ayanami against the altered Skynet Genesis—the newly born, vulnerable Skynet!
Now, having Ayanami fight against the [Judgment Day] version of Skynet? Marcus felt they were likely doomed.
Let's push the story forward!
