Chapter 11 - Chapter Ten

Haylen's POV:

Taking deep breaths, I sauntered towards the two huge bulky looking men with unfriendly gaze on their faces.

They just stood in front of the gate, their expression stoic.

Like they haven't smiled in ages.

"Hi!." I smiled at them, giving a cool wave and expecting them to smile back.

They just stared at me, their faces pointed.

"I'm Haylen Denvers, Jacean's girlfriend."

No response.

"I want to see him, I heard he's sick."

They looked at each other for a brief moment before turning back to me and replied in a schronized manner, "No."

Their indifference was annoying me I had to stump my foot on the pavement heavily, "Excuse me, I'm Jacean's girlfriend, Haylen Denvers and I'm here to see him."

"And you can't see him."

Angered, I punched the other man hard on the belly, but it made no sense. It was like a five years old against a full grown man. He didn't even budge.

"Let me in."

"Miss," the bulkiest between them called, "we can't let you in, we were instructed by sir himself unless you call him and made your visit known to him."

I huffed as I turned around, knowing fully well no matter how I'd react or act bratty, they weren't ready to let me in.

As I looked around the estate, I noticed a fence that wasn't so high and had a tall tree towering over it.

It was like a ladder to the main house of the estate.

My mouth twitched.

I slowly crept to the ornamental flowers and trees in the garden, tiptoeing, making sure the bodyguards didn't notice until I climbed high enough in the tree.

Damn.

Could I really do this?

Why was I even so bothered about Jacean?

To the point I was ready to risk my life just to know how he was doing?

I could wait for whenever he'd be alright and resume.

But, could I?.

I pushed the thoughts away and made for the first climb.

Luckily for me, I was dressed in baggy pants and shirt that made me easy to climb and move with no help.

I kept climbing until I came face to face with a window.

All I had to do was jump into the room.

What if I fall? Of course I wouldn't. I was confident even in my own ability in sports.

I was an expert in hiking and climbing.

What if someone was in the room? Like Jacean's mom or Dad or any of their relative?

Oh, my image would be tarnished.

Imagine your first impression of a girl is her jumping out of nowhere into your room through the window.

I shook my head as I sprinted for the room, closing my eyes and giving my destiny to fate as I jumped into the room through the window before landing on my butt on the tiled floor when I heard an astonished yet tone , "What are you doing here?."

I looked up to see Jacean, sitting on his bed with a slightly depressed look.

He looked so sad for a moment I forgot about the pains in my ass and the way I'd prepared to scold him for the rude behavior of his bodyguard's towards me.

"Jacean." I got up and dusted my clothes, "Why didn't you come to school?." Speaking of which, he didn't look sick at all. I had expected to see him lying weakly in bed with a towel placed on his forehead.

But here he was, sitting with a melancholic expression on his face.

He reverted his gaze from me to the window, "Don't tell me you climbed in to see me."

"I did."

He snapped his head towards me, "Are you crazy? You could have fallen."

"Durr," I shrugged, "nothing happened."

Uninvitedly I sat on his bed, beside him, only then did I notice his eyes were red and puffy.

He has been crying? But why?

"You cried?." He looked away from me when I asked him. It was the first time to see him in such way.

I pulled at his shoulder.

Yes, I could be wicked and emotionless, but not to this extent. I could forget all about the revenge plan and just focus on him. To know why he was this way. It tugged at my heart with such look on him.

"We may not be close or even friends, but at least, we'll, you can talk to me." I said.

He seemed hesitant for a moment, before his shoulders fell and song nearly took over him as he looked up at the ceiling with glossy eyes and red nose.

Even in this situation, he looked helplessly handsome.

"My dad wants to divorce my mom. He chased her away when she came to ask for money."

I was momentarily stunned as I looked at him, trying to process if I heard him well.
