Chapter 232 - Chapter 235 Ragnarok! ?

  Chapter 235 Ragnarok! ?

"I can only promise you that if it's within my power, I will help!"

Phine didn't make a grand promise to be the savior, but rather stated beforehand that he would only do his best. If Njord disagreed, he wouldn't need the bead.

  "Alright!"

Njord didn't hesitate, nodding in agreement and handing the bead to Phine.

Seeing Njord's quick and decisive action, Phine was slightly surprised. After taking the bead, he couldn't help but ask, "Aren't you afraid I'm lying to you? Or what if I go back on my word?"

  "I believe you!"

Njord looked at Phine and said, "You're willing to help Asgard quell the war without any kinship or expectation of reward. I believe you're a kind person!"

Phine felt immediately ashamed. He wasn't asking for anything in return; it was just that no one had noticed what he had received.

  "Thank you!"

However, Phine didn't explain. It was fine for Njord to misunderstand. He would 'help' quell wars in other realms whenever he had the chance.

Seeing Finney examining the 'Pearl of the Ocean' in his hand, Njord hesitated for a moment before saying, "You'd better be careful of that old man Odin!"

  Finney looked up in surprise.

"Asgard has always had the prophecy of Ragnarok, and according to many people, Ragnarok is likely to happen soon!"

  Njord explained.

"What does that have to do with me?"

Finney was stunned for a moment, then, thinking of Njord's actions earlier, he suddenly realized and asked with wide eyes, "He doesn't also think I can break the prophecy of Ragnarok, does he?"

Njord didn't answer, but just looked deeply at Finney and said, "You really are special!"

Finney was speechless, suddenly understanding why Odin had been so friendly—hosting a grand banquet and providing meticulous hospitality.

There's no such thing as a free lunch, Finney frowned.

He knew a little about Ragnarok from the original storyline. After Hela broke free of her seal, Thor, unable to defeat his sister, had to call upon Surtur for help, which resulted in the destruction of Asgard.

If Surtur hadn't been called upon, and Hela had ruled Asgard, would Ragnarok have been prevented?

Finney felt this was a difficult question to answer. Like Njord had said, prophecies could be interpreted in many ways; perhaps Hela's rule was the true Ragnarok.

After all, given Hela's personality, she would likely have made many enemies, looking like she was doomed.

Moreover, Thanos's snap wiped out half of Asgard's already sparse population—wasn't that also a form of Ragnarok?

Phineas sighed inwardly. If Odin really intended for him to help avert the prophecy of Ragnarok, it would indeed be a troublesome matter.

  "Go back to the banquet!"

Njord looked at Phineas and said, "According to my calculations, the prophetic catastrophe is at least three years away from occurring. I hope you can come to Vanaheim again in three years!"

"Okay, if nothing unexpected happens, I'll definitely come!"

Finney readily agreed. Three years was enough time; even if he only practiced his skills every day, it would be enough for him to acquire another skill.

The two returned to the banquet, where Thor was already surrounded by a large group of beautiful girls. Thor was speaking loudly, completely swaying the atmosphere towards Asgard.

Njord, seeing this, frowned slightly. As a sorcerer, he always preferred elegance and looked down on the barbaric behavior of the Asgardians.

Finney also noticed Thor's incongruous behavior at the banquet, finding it somewhat amusing while also admiring his audacity.

Since Thor was a guest, Njord didn't say anything. After bidding farewell to Finney, he simply left the banquet to avoid further annoyance.

Finney's return didn't change the situation much.

As the last remaining prince of Asgard and the future king, Thor was actually more popular than Phineas. Although Phineas was more handsome and stronger, Thor's family was simply too wealthy!

Just think of the golden palace of Asgard, and then think of the legendary, impoverished, poorly clothed, and starving Midgard.

Although the Midgard Thor described seemed somewhat different, to be on the safe side, most of the ladies could only look at Phineas with regret and continue to pester Thor.

Phineas was happy to relax, enjoying the food of Vanaheim while casually explaining Earth's conditions to the ladies beside him.

For example, Earthlings never ride horses; we have buses, cars, electric cars, bicycles, trains, subways, airplanes, and so on!

At the same time, he used a projection spell on Kamar-Taj, instantly attracting a large crowd, including some of the ladies who had previously been bothering Thor, who couldn't help but turn their curiosity towards Phineas.

Thor watched Finney showing off with his magic, a look of resentment on his face. Although he knew a little magic, it was just the simplest illusion, only good for altering the appearance of a hammer and clothing.

He was clearly not up to Finney's effortless showmanship; he couldn't very well pull out the hammer and perform an electric shock for everyone.

After the banquet, Thor, true to his good family values, refrained from any group activities, and Finney, needless to say, was even less inclined to engage in any such behavior. These young women, though they looked young, were too old to call them "grandmother.

" Back in his room, Finney took out the 'Ocean Pearl' Nyold had given him again, examining it closely.

The pearl wasn't large, slightly smaller than a ping-pong ball, and looked very beautiful, emitting a soft, pale blue light. When he held it to his ear, he could faintly hear the sound of flowing water.

When Finney held it, he could feel a warm power flowing through his skin and slowly into his body.

Then Finney looked at a glass of water on the table. As if an invisible hand had appeared, it 'took' the water out of the glass and arranged it into various shapes in the air.

After testing the effect, Finney stared at the bead in his hand, lost in thought. As the saying goes, one shouldn't have a heart to harm others, but one shouldn't be without a heart to guard against others. He felt that Njord might not have told him the bead's full uses.

Njord was known as the sea god, and this bead was called the 'Pearl of the Ocean.' Finney didn't believe it only had these functions.

Whether Njord could remotely control it and cause a sudden explosion was another matter, but Finney couldn't guarantee it might have some kind of monitoring, recording, or location tracking function.

Finney decided that he should take it to the Ancient One for inspection as soon as he got back. As a magical item, he believed the Ancient One would definitely be able to detect any problems.
