Her phone rang incessantly beside them. He seemed to lose his patience, grabbing it and actually answering the call. She was horrified. 'How humiliated would Mason Thorne be if he knew I was doing this with him?' After all, Mason was her fiancé.
She couldn't hear what Mason Thorne said on the other end, but she heard Ronan Joyce's curt response, "She's busy right now!"
He then hung up, powered off the phone, and tossed it aside before bending down to scoop her into his arms.
"Ronan Joyce, don't think sleeping with me will fix anything between us. What you're doing is useless!"
She didn't know if it was her words or Mason Thorne's phone call that had infuriated him. He had been carrying her toward the bedroom, but now he stopped midway and simply tossed her onto the sofa, leaving her dizzy from the fall.
"Did he make you feel like this last night? Did he kiss you here too?"
"And here?"
"Ronan Joyce, you bastard!"
