Chapter 194: Xiao Yan, You Beast!
As she turned around, Xiao Yi Xian saw a black clad young man smiling warmly at her.
"You…" Xiao Yi Xian's eyes reddened, and she quickly turned her head away again.
"What's wrong? Are you mad at me?" Xiao Yan's gentle voice came from behind her. Xiao Yi Xian's body stiffened, but she stubbornly refused to look back.
"Hehe." Xiao Yan chuckled softly as he approached her, only to be interrupted by a sharp screech.
The blue eagle beside her flared its wings and glared at Xiao Yan with hostility, clearly upset at the human who had caused its companion so much sadness.
"Feathered mutt, if you weren't my girl's pet, I'd roast you for dinner," Xiao Yan muttered disdainfully before pulling out a drop of Amethyst Crystal Source from his storage ring.
As soon as the drop appeared, the blue eagle's eyes lit up, and its hostile gaze turned into one of eager anticipation. The enticing scent of the crystal source was irresistible to most magical beasts.
"Scram and go play." Xiao Yan flicked the drop of crystal source into the air. The blue eagle immediately abandoned its protective stance and soared into the sky, chasing after the tempting treat.
With the obstacle out of the way, Xiao Yan finally stepped closer to Xiao Yi Xian. Seeing her still refusing to face him, he boldly wrapped his arm around her slender waist.
Feeling Xiao Yan suddenly embrace her, Xiao Yi Xian's body trembled, and she froze as she felt his chin rest on her shoulder.
"Sorry. Something came up, and I got delayed," Xiao Yan said softly, his warm breath brushing against her ear. Her tense frame slowly relaxed, leaning back against him.
"Do you know how scared I was… scared that you wouldn't come back?" Xiao Yi Xian murmured, her voice laced with vulnerability.
Xiao Yan said nothing, simply holding her in silence, breathing in her faint fragrance mixed with a subtle hint of medicinal herbs.
After a moment, he noticed something. Xiao Yi Xian's aura had changed she had broken through to the Dou Shi realm.
"Come back to Jia Ma Imperial City with me," Xiao Yan suddenly said.
"Huh?" Xiao Yi Xian looked up, surprised, her face showing a mix of hesitation and awkwardness.
"If I go to the capital, I'll have to meet your three wives and four concubines, won't I?"
"Three wives and four concubines? They're your good sisters," Xiao Yan said with feigned seriousness.
"I'm not going! I just want to stay here, tending my herbs and researching poisons. I have no interest in palace drama." Xiao Yi Xian huffed, turning her head stubbornly.
"There won't be any palace drama. I've already chosen someone to be the lead wife. She'll keep everything in order," Xiao Yan said with a sly smile, thinking of the slumbering entity hidden within his storage ring.
"The lead wife?" Xiao Yi Xian's eyes widened before narrowing as she pinched him hard on the arm.
"You scoundrel! You really are planning a harem, aren't you?"
"Hehe," Xiao Yan chuckled, scooping her up in his arms.
"What are you doing?" Xiao Yi Xian yelped in surprise.
"What do you think I'm doing?" Xiao Yan grinned mischievously.
"Not now! It's broad daylight!" Xiao Yi Xian's face flushed red.
"Daylight? There's no one else here."
"No! Absolutely not!" Xiao Yi Xian shook her head furiously.
"Then come with me to the capital."
"I said no!"
"Don't blame me for being 'unreasonable,' then." Xiao Yan leaned in closer.
Finally, Xiao Yi Xian panicked. Gripping his hands tightly, her clear eyes glimmered with a hint of defiance.
"Xiao Yan, please don't force me. I really don't like that kind of life."
Xiao Yan paused, staring at her resolute expression. Forcing her would only leave a scar in her heart, something he didn't want.
Quickly adjusting his approach, Xiao Yan softened his gaze and spoke in a heartfelt tone.
"Xian'er…"
"What?" Xiao Yi Xian asked warily, her voice softening despite herself.
"I want you to come to the capital not because I dream of a life with three palaces and six courts, but because I want you to be the first person I see when I return," Xiao Yan said sincerely.
"What about the other women?" Xiao Yi Xian pressed, though her expression had softened.
"I do care for them, but you're different. In my heart, you're like a pure white snow lotus. No matter how many flowers bloom, you're the one that captivates me most."
Xiao Yan's words caused her cheeks to flush, her gaze growing gentler as she looked at him.
Seeing this, Xiao Yan seized the moment. "Come with me to the capital. I'll have someone purchase this entire basin in the Magical Beast Mountain Range. We'll fill it with herbs and visit whenever we want."
"Xiao Yan…" Xiao Yi Xian's heart raced as she looped her arms around his neck, her eyes misty with emotion.
"I can even buy land near the Misty Cloud Sect and plant a herb garden for you. I'll build you a private residence nearby so I can hide you like a treasure."
His smile was as warm as the spring sun.
Moved, Xiao Yi Xian leaned forward, her soft lips pressing gently against his.
"I thought it was too bright for this?" Xiao Yan teased, still holding her as he carried her toward the small wooden house.
"You're terrible! Do that again, and I'll ignore you forever," Xiao Yi Xian huffed, though she only clung to him tighter.
Hehe. Xiao Yan stopped teasing and let his actions speak for themselves.
An hour later, Xiao Yan sat by the window, his clothes back in place and a refreshed look on his face. Xiao Yi Xian lay on the bed, wrapped in a thin blanket that barely covered her delicate figure.
Her damp hair clung to her face, adding a hint of allure.
"That was so embarrassing…" Xiao Yi Xian muttered, her cheeks flushed as she buried her face in the pillow.
She couldn't believe she'd given herself to him in broad daylight. She blamed his sweet words for her moment of weakness.
"Hehe," Xiao Yan chuckled, reaching over to gently pat her through the blanket.
"Get dressed. I want to introduce you to a new friend."
"A new friend?" Xiao Yi Xian blinked in confusion. She got dressed and watched as Xiao Yan retrieved Qing Lin from his storage space.
When she saw the shy, green haired girl appear, her expression darkened immediately.
"Xiao Yan, you beast!"
