Chapter 225 - The Demon King's Concern

Meanwhile...

On the Fallen Islands of the demons...

The Demon King looked at his subordinate, the Ruler of Fear, with astonishment and disbelief written across his face.

He then turned to his wife and said,

"Did you hear that, my dear?"

"A new race has appeared in this world..."

"And it seems to be powerful as well."

Bloody Mary looked at her husband before replying in a calm yet curious tone,

"Yes."

"It truly is strange."

"But this isn't the time to be surprised."

She paused for a moment before continuing as she looked at the other rulers.

"In any case..."

"That new race will undoubtedly take part in the war."

"Every new race seeks to prove its existence and earn respect and prestige among the other races."

She crossed her arms and added,

"But what matters most right now..."

"is whether this race is hostile toward us."

"If they are our enemies..."

"That will not be in our favor."

"We already have more than enough enemies."

"We don't need another one added to the list."

The Demon King looked at her in silence.

He thought for several seconds.

Then he nodded.

"You're right."

"But you've forgotten something important."

Bloody Mary looked at him with curiosity.

"And what have I forgotten?"

The Demon King smiled faintly.

"You forgot that they are a new race."

"Which means they most likely don't have any allies or friends among the other races yet."

A cunning smile spread across his face as he continued,

"So..."

"We should take advantage of that."

"First, we'll find out whether they are our enemies or not."

"If they are..."

"We'll eliminate them before they grow stronger."

"But if they are neutral..."

"Or willing to form an alliance with us..."

"They could become valuable allies in our war against the other races."

As soon as he finished speaking...

all the Demon Rulers nodded in agreement.

Bloody Mary nodded as well before asking,

"Then..."

"Will you send one of my ghosts to investigate this new race?"

The Demon King shook his head.

"No."

"We need someone powerful."

"Someone who can make it clear to this new race that we are serious about our offer."

Before he could continue...

Medusa raised her hand confidently.

"Allow me to go, Your Majesty."

"I will return with certain answers."

"I will learn whether they are our enemies, standing in the way of our glory..."

"Or whether they will become our allies."

The Demon King thought for a few moments.

Then he nodded.

"Very well."

"You're the right person for this mission."

"Go."

"But don't be gone for too long."

His expression darkened as he looked toward the sky.

"There are unusual movements from the angels that I don't like."

"And I want all of my greatest powers gathered in one place in case of any emergency."

Medusa nodded.

A mysterious smile appeared on her face.

Suddenly...

her body began to change.

Thousands of black serpents burst forth from it, slithering in every direction until they covered the ground around her.

Moments later...

Medusa's entire body had transformed into a vast sea of serpents.

Then they all surged toward the ocean at astonishing speed.

Within seconds...

they disappeared from sight.

The Demon King stared at the place where Medusa had vanished.

His brows furrowed, and concern became evident on his face.

Lilith noticed his expression.

She looked at her father reassuringly and said,

"Don't worry, Father."

"Medusa never takes a step unless she's confident she'll succeed."

"Besides, she's far from weak."

"And she has thousands of ways to escape if she senses any danger."

Bloody Mary nodded in agreement before saying,

"Lilith is right, Mara."

"Medusa is exceptionally intelligent."

"She would never foolishly walk into a trap she knows exists."

"And don't forget..."

"She's one of your rulers."

The Demon King remained silent for a few moments.

He looked at his wife.

Then at his daughter.

Then at the gathered Demon Rulers standing before him.

Finally, he let out a long sigh.

"I don't know..."

"But I have a bad feeling."

"Sending Medusa alone..."

"doesn't sit well with me."

Silence filled the hall.

The Demon Rulers exchanged puzzled glances.

Bloody Mary looked at Lilith before turning her eyes back to her husband.

No one spoke after that.

Everyone knew...

that the Demon King's instincts were rarely wrong.

And so...

they all waited anxiously for news of Medusa, while an ominous feeling settled over the hall, as though another great storm was about to descend upon the entire world.
