Chapter 224 - Wrath of the Heavens

Meanwhile, as Heimdall gathered all the rulers of Asgard under Thor's orders in preparation for the emergency council...

Odin soared across the heavens atop his winged warhorse, flying above another battlefield.

He stood high above the clouds, silently gazing down at the island below.

From that tremendous height, every detail of the war lay clearly before his eyes.

He saw the elves fighting bravely to defend their fortress.

He saw hordes of demons pouring in from every direction, attacking without pause like endless waves.

He also watched the elves summon powerful spirit creatures to fight alongside them.

But what caught his attention the most...

was the presence of ghostly beings fighting alongside the demon army.

Odin frowned slightly.

He had never expected to see ghosts taking part in this war.

He slowly raised his hand.

In the very next instant...

without anyone noticing what had happened...

one of the ghosts vanished from the battlefield.

A heartbeat later, it appeared directly in Odin's grasp.

He seized it by the throat as the ghost trembled in terror.

He did not give it a chance to speak.

Instead, Odin released his spiritual power. It pierced through the ghost's entire body, allowing him to read all of its memories and knowledge within mere moments.

A few seconds later...

the ghost's body gradually dissolved in his hand until it became nothing more than black mist that scattered into the wind.

A faint smile crossed Odin's face as he said,

"So..."

"The ghosts have joined the demon army..."

He chuckled quietly before adding,

"So the Demon King was married to Bloody Mary... Ha."

He nodded with interest.

"What fascinating news."

Silence lingered for a few moments.

Then Odin looked once more at the war-torn island below.

And began to think.

"If I attack this island now..."

"Will the dragons send someone to investigate?"

He pondered for only a few seconds.

Then...

he made his decision.

A cold smile spread across his face as he looked down at the island beneath him and declared,

"Elves..."

"Demons..."

"Ghosts..."

"Today..."

"You are the enemies of Asgard."

The moment those words left his lips...

his eyes turned completely white.

At that very instant...

the clouds above the island began to gather at a terrifying speed.

They spread across the sky for countless miles.

Within only a few moments...

they covered the entire island and everything around it for dozens of kilometers.

Odin raised his head toward the heavens and said with a calm smile,

"Farewell..."

"You losers."

Suddenly...

the sky turned upside down.

Massive tornadoes erupted out of nowhere.

Fierce winds swept across the battlefield, tearing away everything in their path.

The elves, the demons, the ghosts, and even the spirit creatures summoned by the elves were hurled into the air like fallen leaves.

At the same time...

lightning rained down from the heavens without end.

It mixed with torrential rain and freezing hail.

Then the rain transformed into devastating floods that swept across the island.

Entire groups of demons were frozen inside enormous blocks of ice.

The raging waters overwhelmed the elves, drowning all those who failed to escape.

As for the lightning...

it struck with terrifying precision, obliterating the spirit creatures one after another until most of them vanished from the battlefield.

Panic spread across the island.

The Elven Commander, who was leading the defense of the fortress, clung tightly to the fortress wall and shouted at the top of his lungs,

"Prepare yourselves!"

"Prepare yourselves!"

"It's the dragons!"

"This disaster isn't a natural phenomenon!"

"A supreme power is attacking the island!"

One of the elves immediately obeyed his command.

He pulled a small crystal from his clothing.

Then he shattered it without hesitation.

The moment he did...

he let out a sigh of relief.

He realized that he had successfully sent the distress signal.

But...

before he could even cry out in joy...

one of the violent tornadoes swept him away.

It hurled him high into the sky at incredible speed, while his screams echoed across the island before disappearing completely.

The Elven Commander watched his subordinate.

Then he closed his eyes for a brief moment and thought,

"Well done..."

"You delivered the message."

Before the remaining elves could even comprehend what had happened...

a colossal bolt of lightning split the heavens.

Then it crashed directly onto the fortress.

A terrifying explosion shook the entire island.

In a single instant...

the fortress disappeared.

It was reduced to nothing but dust and ashes.

All that remained in its place was a gigantic black crater filled with the stench of burning.

As for everyone who had been inside...

they were erased from existence.

High above the battlefield, Odin gazed upon the overwhelming destruction.

He watched the elves, the demons, the ghosts, and the spirit creatures being annihilated before his very eyes.

Then he let out a quiet laugh.

Smiling, he said,

"And now..."

"All that's left..."

"is to wait for the reinforcements to arrive."

His smile widened as he stared toward the distant horizon.

"I hope the one who comes is a dragon."

Then he laughed for a long time and said,

"I want to capture one..."

"So Volund can forge weapons from its hide and bones."

His laughter echoed across the heavens while the storm he had created continued to mercilessly tear the island apart, awaiting the arrival of the first being bold enough to challenge the Ruler of Asgard.
