Kian Sterling had just stuffed a piece of lamb in his mouth when, in an instant, as if struck by lightning, his whole expression froze.
The next second, he spat the lamb out with a loud "Wah!", coughed uncontrollably, and tears were about to fall: "Cough cough cough… Holy crap, what the hell is this? It's so spicy and so numbing, my mouth feels dead."
Luna watched him with sympathy—this ultra-spicy dip was specifically concocted for that bastard Corbin Crowley, but who knew Kian's hand would be so quick? He just grabbed a piece, dipped it, and ate it before she could stop him.
She stifled a laugh, quickly poured him a glass of juice and handed it over, guiltily saying, "Kian, here, drink some juice, that'll help!"
Kian took the juice and downed it in one go, glancing meaningfully at Luna and Corbin Crowley.
He's no fool; Rhys Blackwood was eating like nothing was wrong, clearly the dip wasn't the problem.
