"Auntie, you're the only one who can meet him directly without any suspicion, you know?" Sophie winked.
"...Oh!"
Ella exclaimed for a second, but her expression darkened in the next, and she slowly let go of Eugene's hands. Her shoulder slumped again as she spoke dispiritedly.
"Oh, but we can really talk that openly, though. Didn't I tell you that we can't go to his bedroom? We're only allowed to meet in the reception room, like I'm his guest and not his sister..." she grumbled.
"It's okay, at least you can meet him directly," Eugene said.
Ella narrowed her eyes and clasped her hands on the table, leaning forward with a serious expression. "Please explain."
Eugene lowered his voice, but still maintained his calm tone. "What we need now, to reach for a successful divorce, is evidence--lots of evidence for the court to grant it easily, even if his husband refuses."
