When he found out his aunt was living nearby, Eugene was rather confused. Why didn't his dad tell him of this fact last time? Ian came all the way to his house and said nothing.
Granted, it was such a short visit--so short it didn't even last twenty-four hours--but, still...couldn't he slip in that fact while they were chatting? Ian even left his 'tracked' phone at home, so there wouldn't be any chance of an information leak.
"I...don't know, either," Ella shook her head. "Honestly, he never told me about you either."
Eugene raised his brows. "Really?"
"I mean...he never told me that he started reconnecting with you," Ella shrugged. "He did mention your name, saying things like...he missed you, or that he's glad you are his son..."
Eugene lowered his head as he felt the corner of his lips twitching, rubbing his neck shyly as he suppressed a desire to smile widely.
