Omegas getting sold off was actually something Eugene heard often--more often than he would like. Unfortunately, it had become a phrase that carelessly got thrown around so much as an insult that the reality behind it became an obscured urban lingo.
But there was no humor when his father and brothers told him that all he was good for as an omega was to be sent off to marry someone to benefit the family. That was when the term 'sold off as an omega' truly hit him.
Later on, he realized his dad might also be someone who got 'sold' as an omega, but he never really knew what happened. He couldn't ask his dad the same way Hannah couldn't ask him why she only had one parent before Arthur came into their life.
What his aunt said earlier, however, solidified his assumption.
"How exactly did they 'sell' him?" Eugene asked her, making sure to keep his voice from getting too agitated.
